aiight i'm warning u this review is gonna be somewhat corny but whatever..

it was my friends bday party so i ended up leaving much later than i expected. when i got to the place around 1.30 or so all i saw was maybe 20 squad cars parked out in front of the place, and they wouldnt let me in. at that point, i must admit, i kinda got the feeling that it was good while it lasted, because i had no idea what was gonna happen. but luckily people responded in an amazing way, and managed to arrange the party to continue elsewhere. just getting to the new place was funny as else, packed onto the night buses with all the other people, and walking down st laurent doing random crazy shit. anyways once i got to the new place it was just getting restarted and i had this amazing feeling that no matter what, the vibe will never die. big ups to the idj krew, the owners of the loft, and all the partygoers for making the trek over. musically speaking, the first set i heard was dj freedom (i missed gerald belanger) and her set was kinda more mellow than i was in the mood for, but then k2 and obilio dropped the heavy beats i was waiting for in an amazing tag team. after that i kinda lost track of who was spinning, just remember the great mobb deep remix dropped by axionfigga. well thats about it im gonna get some sleep now hehe.

Oscillate In Da Jungle = Organased Confusion part 2.
Cops shut down the first location (I didn't know there were any ray junior parties tonight..) so we all found ourselves at another locale after an hour.
Glaksy, you kicked ass! :) Incredibly fun, count me in for the next one. I'm gonna go pass out now.
weed = my buddy

glad alot of people are becoming idj souljah's and joining the junglists massive.

glad i met you spooky

as usuall my review from another site
-------------------------------------------------

missed the first half galakxy's set so i could have only looked forward to hearing Gerald Belanger set. I heard of beginning of what could have been a really fucked up set. started out with some trancy kind of stuff. so i stood and chilled out for a bit while he built up eventually to that crazy intense track with the grinding guitars and crazy drums (oscillate 3?) and that came on right when the police started doing their loser thing with the flashlights.
this was after he played krinjah's bambam so all i was able to do was headbang like a deranged motherfucker. ILL

met two dudes from london at location A. they thought it was really strange cause this kind of thing doesn't happen over there.

funny incident with the pigs was when the nerdy 5-0 one pops out of nowhere and tell people to quit throwing their cigarettes on the ground. what a fucken nerd yo! dude we werent the ones picking on you at school. get a fucken job.
those lady cops were good looking.

why were the pigs escorting the equipment truck?

a long forgetfull busride, walk, busride to location B and we turned out to be in a darkroom with something like 50 people inside. stuffy as hell but it was a surprise to see almost half the people made it all the way across town just to party. at this point i lost all my energy. i think it was K2 spinning, people were enjoying it and it could have been massive if the sound was adecate. i coudn't dance anymore.

i'm still positive about the idj parties to come. sometimes the best things aren't the most convenient. promoters get more keen and with a bit of luck, every party will stay out of the grasp of the long arms of the law.

support. appreciate.

We should have taken a picture of the cop with the handlebar mustach smoking inside the non-smoking part of the building and given it to the owners and insisted they sue. :)

hehe yeah, that shit was funny. But yeah, the one with the moustache that made him look like one of those gay bikers from Police Academy, the one that was in charge that pushed Valerie out the venue and then told her to leave and stop harrasing them.
We shoulda rioted. :) The cops inside when you were dancing looked like they were afraid of what you'd do if they had to "escort" us all out.

Cops In Da Jungle was such a weird one....The one thing it showed me mainly is the following; The IDJ partiers,dancers,friends,supporters...are the BEST !! YOU ALL ROCK ! I LOVE YOU ALL !!! You showed massive support and comprehension, wise moves,unity.....I was deeply touched by such surrendering...T'was like a pacifist guerilla ! I was so frustrated, trying to question the cops and getting told by them- you're a stupid asshole, shut up,you're inferior,go sit there or we'll hit you with our sticks...and much more; total dumb-ass cops, power trip buzz.I was at the point where they were about o fucking hit me for real and i can easily imagine the riot that would have followed.....Bastards !! IDJ's are all about intimate, good vibes party; no bikers,no violence,no problems....until the cops creates the problems themselves...Like Fred says; a buch of pacifist happy jungle partiers is more dangerous than pimps, bad drug dealers and the Hells Angels....Total nonsense....We got fucked by the venue's guys; they knew they would be busted because they don't pay their rent and keep on throwing parties there+ it's a musical studio zonme where there's no right to throw commercial events....So,they tried to make as much money as possible on our back and then if busted, and they knew it would be,they thought we'll end up with all problems...Bastards !! Anyways, get ready 'cos this was not our last words....Big up to everyone who showed support and love...Boo to the ones who made vandalism at location no.2,that was fucking cheap ! Musically speaking, for what i've heard; GERALD BÉLANGER was killer with its eclectic and open minded vision of what is drumn'bass, Freedom's set was a nice as she is,sweet and sexy, K2 and OBLIO are some of the best current Toronto dj's and they showed it at IDJ with a tight and excellent tag....I missed the rest of the music 'cos i was dead and gone in the world of dreams, and weird ones.... Big up the Oscillate crew as dj's and persons, amazing vibrations from these music lovers...Big up to all In Da Junglists and we'll rock again on january 18th,2003.....Much love from the IDJ family.

mofos were parked illegally right in front!!!
didnt even wanna move their cars for us to get the gear out of the space,
they werent really escorting us, but they knew we had more people to pick up and put in the back (=illegal), so they tried to follow us for a bit, but like those 70s cops shows, after a high speed chase we lost em, picked up some relatives and made it to the 6-2

the lady cops in the stairs were super hot what was up with that? everything was so surreal i was expecting them to start some kinky shit - oh well

its good we didnt riot tho, and i m pretty sure they didnt get any flyers for the next event, so we should be cool (wont take a russian mafia venue next time - more on that later)
but my point is that its not really worth wasting energy on the 5-0, i didnt want to make their jobs (kicking us out)easy so talking shit to them was fun, but when i got to #2 i was completely drained and stressed - getting on the decks with all the love inside definitely fixed that tho!
again love to all (especially for keeping the party running while the popo where at #1 for 2hrs)

well even if they did take a flyer.. we always find a way to pix everything so we'll be fine.. and maybe they were just looking at it and they didnt take one with them... i think that maybe instead of busting our parties and our fun they should go save some lives or go arrest ppl that are actually doing sumthing bad... not us lil party ppl who just wanna hvae a good time !!!

just cus their teeenage years were fucked up and shitty dont mean they gotta ruin ours!!! thye should get a life and find something better to do or atleast to thier job a bit better!!

wtv next idj will rock looking forward to seeing you spin again seb!!!

gotta bounce!!
