It's a good location, but be warned, setting up during the tams is a no-no, and setting up without a permit will mean you can be shut down fast. And the police are entitled to take your gear if you set it up. Granted they'd have to be pretty big cunts to do it, but the letter of the law is on their side.
You need to apply for a permit with the city in order to use their electrical outlets located at the gazebo, and unless you're backed up by CIBC or RBC, it's a bit of a wait. My advice, for what it's worth, set up and play. If a anyone asks you if you have a permit, answer yes. If they ask you to produce the paper work, tell them you can go get it. If they ask you to get it, the jig is up. Dismantle without a fuss. Then set up again next time. But don't rock the boat or rage against the machine or whatever. You'll just make it harder for people to set up in the future. |

unfortunately the crew is devided because of the permit issue so were gonna take care of that and we'll be back in business in no time... Access Montreals gotta answer their phone first for us to do this..collectively this week between 3 people we spent 6 hours on hold and never talked to a single soul..WTF?...were doing our best and im sure this will all work out...I agree Seb..the bird thing was weak but what more do you expect..they had to think of something..obviously we werent disturbing anyone/thing. hope to see you all soon -K p.s. this jam is saturday not sunday during the tams ;) |

thats too bad, it used to be so easy to set up during the tams
the city of montreal workers even helped us plug the sound into the electrical gear under the gazebo... the 1 saturday we set up, there was barely anyone around just peeps going to the alouettes game, damn that was funny too bad its so complicated nowadays, i wonder why that is anyways, if theres any way i can help out let me know ez b |
