Some questions I would like to discuss with you about music. I took these questions from some website that I don't remember now, unfortunately.

Music's impact on you......

What factors influence the response?
How does music interact with memories?
How does music interact with existential meanings?
How can music be used to heal grief?
How can music be used to find hope?
What principles and techniques for using music
to foster empowerment, versus manipulation?

HOw does music interact with memories...

well for one, a song can triggure a memory. A memory may triggure the remmberence of a song. A song can triggure a painful memory causing you to confront it or to want to escape from it.

Music can be used to heal grief, when it allows a person to confront a memory, feeling that needs to be acknowledged, validated for it not to be so painful. Music can heal grief, when it touches us in a certain way so that's it's like: I am not the only one who feels this way-- it's true.

good music makes me bob my head and enjoy the moment
today's music makes me want to vomit uncontollably all over everyone who claims that it's good

i can't say that there is any real relation between music and memory, nor grief, nor hope...
it is all circumstatntial....
i remember listening to music in high school that I thought was very much a pick me up, but everyone else who listened to it thought it was depressing

p.s. my mind isn't pretty... it's vile and disgusting

can you not say that music can triggure a memory in your mind or that the opposite can occur?
What do you mean, it is all circumstantial -- that sounded like some shit some intellectual would say to intimidate the likes of people like me.
What do you mean by no real connection -- I'm interested. i have an idea of what you mean.. I know what I would mean if I said that -- but I am not the one to have said it.

It means that it all depends on what's happening to you at that time...
If I listen to a song that I listened to day in and day out for the three "happiest" years of life, OBVIOUSLY that song will trigger happy thoughts... But the same song can just as easily trigger some horrible rape story in someone else's mind.

Does anyone ever get those "comfortable" tingles up their spines when listening to certain songs?
I think those are great... Yeah, good times they remind me of. hmm. Yes good times indeed.
