Time for a December installment. Fanu's latest release on Subtitles "Siren Song/The Unseen" is probably the best 12" of DNB to come out in the last 4 years for me. The tunes are so inspiring, bringing back the musical elements, the groove & the space of the sound I used to love & pioneer before it all went to hell. This released inspired me to record a brand new mix. IMO, this came out to be the best mix I've ever recorded, technically & musically. It took some tune matching & time to do but came out quite nicely. This one starts deep before dropping into a dark & techy assault. The Siren Song breaks down the darkness for a moment and then things get dancefloor. The mix progresses towards a futuristic, sci-fi sound I've always been about, ending with a proper DS-1 remix of the Dirty Vegas hit. This is also a showcase of my favourite Russian DNB producers, to give you a little taste of the diversity of the DNB sound over there at the moment.
