see my logic behind the box deal is:

'ox' made plural is 'oxen'
so..
'box' should become 'boxen'

there are actually only three words in the english language (that i know of) whose plural is formed by 'en'

'oxen' is one, 'children', and 'bretheren' are the other two, its from the the old german where all plurals are done with 'en' instead of 's'.
