Hi everyone
I work with a company out of Toronto called Club246. We currently broadcast an internet radio station that receives 10,000-12,000 listeners each day. We have a few open slots and we are looking for promoters and djs who are interested in having a weekly slot on the show. We need people who are serious in their committment and may be interested in working with us in the future with events. This is a great opportunity for promoters who want to showcase the talents of their resident djs to listeners across Canada. We are also looking for promoters/djs from smaller areas so if you know of some that may not be on this message board please forward this info. If you are interested please email me djrocketgirl@hotmail.com thanks! -Abbey aka Rocket Girl [ www.club246.com ] p.s. the website has sounds so if you don't like sounds turn your speakers off |

Galasky & Tipsy,
yah I'm sorry I forgot to put that in the post. It's got nothing to do with personal preference. We have sponsors on board and they want to target a specific market...jungle, d'n'b and hiphop are outside of that market as are hhc, uk hardhouse, and nu nrg...tribal hard house has been deemed okay. Without our sponsors there would be no show... If anyone else is interested please email me incase I forget to check this board for replies -Abbey djrocketgirl@hotmail.com |

rocket girl: whats the point in having a show if you have companies telling you what to play. Doesn't sound like it's about the music here, just about the profit. |

Hey Scotty, it is about the music but we also can't loose our shirts over it.
Everyone involved have been involved in music for several years or longer. But when you are broadcasting to 10,000 listeners each day, that eats up a LOT of bandwidth and someone has to pay for it. Not to mention we are trying to eat, live, and support our families off of Club246 (which is much more than just the radio) so yes, money IS important. Ask any professional dj who does it for a living, without money they couldn't be a professional dj, they'd have to still work their day job. We are doing this because we love it and we want our lives and our careers to involve music. If we didn't have sponsors there is no way this radio or this company would exist and we wouldn't be able to follow our dreams. And it's not necessarily the sponsors telling us what to play. This is the format we've always had for throwing shows, etc. Each crew has their own format, right? So when sponsors came on board this is the format we had and we can't deviate from it now. I know not everyone will understand but I just wanted to respond and show you where we're coming from. |
