| Venom is getting his own movie and it's not going to be based on spiderman.
The premisis of it is that there is an alien planet inhabited by a race of spider-like creatures who have very strong psychic powers (I'm seriously not making this up) and their only natural predator is this shapless Blob-style thing that eats them. They combine all their powers to weaken it and get it into a spaceship to launch it off their planet, but they need to send one of their own with it because it would regain it's strength before they'd manage to launch it off the planet and break out of the ship, so they sacrifice their strongest psychic for the job. Mindless, killing alien blob launches off the planet and eats the weakening psichic spider-guy, but the spider guy manages to weaken it so much that it assimilates him to a degree.
Spaceship crashes on earth. Eddie Brock is the first person on the scene. Extremely weakened alien blob tries to eat eddie brock, but the residual mental assault from the spider-creature makes it too weak to drain him, and he ends up taking controll of it (albeit not 100%, because it's still fighting him throughout the whole movie)
Aparently it's going to focus on Venom being the not-that-good good-guy that he became near the end of the comics, and it will be at least a 2 part serries ending with his arrest and getting freed fromjail by the costume, but the costume leaving behind the "offspring" in the cell for Kleatus Kassidy to find... |

| If the old license holders didn't renew it, chances are Sony has the license now. If that's the case, you'll still get to see Venom on the silver screen... Just not in the movie Screwhead described.
And I hope that's how it turns out. That psychic-spiders-fleeing-from-blobs script sounds horrible. |

| yeah, it did sound kinda horrible. But on the other hand, how are they going to make Venom come into a movie "properly"? Film the Secret Wars? Throw ALL the Marvel heroes and villains on another planet? Most of them are owned by diffrent movie studios, so it would never work. |

| There's a few proper ways to go about it, I think. I haven't seen the 2nd movie yet, but MJ's apparently engaged to an astronaut in it... Maybe he'll be bringing back the symbiote in Number 3?
Of course, they could just do what they did in Ultimate Spiderman universe. Eddie Brock turns into Venom thanks to a freakish cure for cancer that's... less than perfect.
