 Coolness: 52650 | here are the names of the books we were talking about.
the coolest and funnest one is The Language Instinct, by Stephen Pinker. books by chomsky are a little dry, but i would suggest starting with Powers & Prospects, tje fourth essay in this book of essays is one of the few times where chomsky actually talks about an alternate political-economic system. another book that's crazy cool, and that talks about computers and language and understanding is Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter. i still have to read [ www.nymphonics.com ] , i was out of sorts when i saw it. ----------- ps other books that are cool are The Social Contract by Rousseau, The Pursuit of Happiness by Bertrand Russel, The Bible (four part analysis by Isaac Asimov). ------------ ------------ pps MY ANUS IS BLEEDING!!! ----------- |
