HOME LIFE OF STUDENTS OFTEN RUINED BY DRUGS

Are you puzzled why many of our children and grandchildren have no
discipline at school, make poor grades, come to class without homework and
have no school supplies?

Many of their parents are either drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana or
overdosing on prescription drugs or street drugs. The children probably are
doing the best they can with no decent meals to eat, no attention except to
be screamed at, no one to make sure they have a bath and clean clothes to
wear. They can't get a good night's sleep and have no one to wake them in
the morning. They have no one to make sure they have a good breakfast and
get to school on time.

They are expected to be eager to learn and follow all the rules. They have
no school supplies or lunch money, but mama and daddy have money for
cigarettes, cold drinks, alcohol and drugs.

I'm a senior citizen and a grandmother, and I couldn't function under those
conditions. How can we expect our children and grandchildren to cope with
this? Things are not getting better. What will become of our children and
grandchildren?
