After each show...In the same back stage, le bonheur à son comble. Dans les 10000 graphs, les peintures et affiches des étudiants en concentration théâtre partout sur les murs, nos sourires, notre joie; que d'amertume, de nostalgie à présent. my whole life had changed that year. i graduated high school, started cegep, my mom left to be with some guy in indiana, my dad got a new girlfriend, my younger brothers were acting out cause my mom left and i broke up with my girlfriend after 2.5 years. and then, at the end of october, i started going out with tamara. she changed my life so much. fucking incredible girl. christmas break rocked that year. we were both off school and only working part time. she spent a lot of time at my place. we'd lie stuck together in my single bed all day, in my room lit only by a string of multi-coloured christmas lights, listening to some downtempo dnb, talking, cuddling, having sex, whatever. we'd get out of bed at like 8 pm and eat something and then go back to bed. we had nothing to do, nothing to worry about, nowhere to be. and on christmas night, while i lay on her, with my head on her stomach, she looked at me and asked "does it scare you... that i'm falling in love with you?". the absolute most perfect day of my life. i'd give anything to go back to christmas break 2000. i can't remember ever being happier in my life. everything just seemed so right. |
