 Coolness: 75870 | Well... last time Venetian Snares played out here the flyer was a Trevor Brown image of a girl peeing in a urinal. That was some seriously hot shit, and I'm proud to have had my name written on the bathroom wall.
This flyer definately isn't as hot (but what, may I ask, is as hot as girls standing up to pee?)... but it's, dare I say, a little classier. Maybe I'm just stoked 'cause my name is on it... I mean, this will be the fourth time I've played at the SAT, and I'm pretty sure all the other gigs have been unannounced... I mean, it was awesome as all hell to play after Squarepusher - but it sucks that most people weren't really advised it was me (or maybe it doesn't suck - 'cause I could hardly hear a thing after mr. Jenkinson's high-end assault). |

| Coolness: 51440 | when i first heard vsnares i thought, "this guy is kind of like squarepusher but way more from a hardcore/gabber background, and he would never go all jazzy like squarepusher". then i heard "Doll, Doll, Doll" (still his best album, imho) and it was full of jazz samples, but in a way that squarepusher would never do. just twisted, psychotic horns over his signature breakcore amens. to say nothing of the jonbenet ramsey samples. And that's just one of his many sides. now aphex twin plays Vsnares tunes in his DJ sets. that's about as high praise as you can get in this shit.
so don't miss this one. if you do you'll regret it later. |
