 Coolness: 685725 | those mixers with Serato built in are great.. but like, when you play out, you need to either bring your mixer with you, or get the Serato box on top of everything.. just, I dunno, seems like a waste of money if you're getting Serato to play out and not just to play in your bedroom or get it to install at a club/radio station.. |

I was considering getting one of those at some point this summer. my friend said he can get me a deal. but I never really thought about that part... great for home use, but I cant be bringing my mixer to gigs - even locally that's a huge pain in the ass. it means having to get there early and hook it up and stay till the bitter end.. and every gig that means a whole night worth of random people will be using your gear and giving it lots of wear. and bringing the mixer with you is out of the question if you got booked in another city or in the States or wherever. hmmm.. I do still want a Rane mixer for sure cuz Rane is class, but maybe the built-in Serato is not such a good idea |

I do still want a Rane mixer for sure cuz Rane is class, but maybe the built-in Serato is not such a good idea well, you could always plug your rane, into one of the channels of the house mixer at the club/bar/etc, so that only you use it. but if there isnt enough table space (most of the gigs we get) to fit the mixer in, then that would be bad news. and yea, back to the point given above, if you buy this mixer to save the trouble of not bringing out the soundcard box, but in return, have to bring out your whole mixer, lol, there is definitely a big FAIL in that equation. but to have for the house mixer in a bar/club, or radio station etc, it's a GREAT idea. |
