"To date, there have been hundreds of case reports of allergic contact dermatitis from black henna tattoos, with reactions ranging from mild eczema to blistering and even permanent scarring."

Black henna is pretty rare and most often, they'll use chemical indigo dye, which causes the reaction.

I was looking into that at one point to make henna stencils. Wasn't worth it.
I'm feeling cough right now..

There are several things marketed as "Black Henna", and some things believed to be "Black Henna". Some are very dangerous. Some are harmless. When para-phenylenediamine is used to make black temporary tattoos, often called “black henna”, it can cause blistering, open sores, scarring, and lifelong health problems.

ReverendN -- there is no such thing as 'black henna'. you must be talking about the indigo natural dyes. that is what they use for naturally coloring the skin darker than the red henna. and it is natural and safe. the problem is that often the henna products come from places that don't have a strict ingredients listing policies, so it can be anything, really.

hm. i only use red henna. i found a brand that i know is pure, and i only use that one. i love it in my hair :)

I'm not sure about that. I used to work sur La Place Jaques Quartier in the old port doing henna tattoo's, I have seen affected people the result is exactly as in the pik above. Enplus the design is a classic hippy henna motife.

P mikos tse cat speakerlove has full of scarifications you can find the fotos on her fessebouk.. They do not look like that!

Black Henna does NOT exist! They use a chinese black hair dye, which is extremely dangerous. It gas been banned by the palais de justice and the henna tattoo permit is nolonger available!

I strongly suggest doing a 24 hour test with real red henna before applying it on your skin or in your hair! One of my mates who is allergic to hair dye decided to dye her hair with henna. She tested a small amount on her skin.. after 2 hours no signs of reaction she dyed her hair =( Her head swelled up like a football (we did'nt recognize her) she could of died and was rushed to the hospital =(

REAL TATTOO's FTW =)
I'm feeling i love my r0bot !_! right now..

black henna does not exist but there is a natural dye used to make the black color, it's called indigo, and it comes from a plant, the indigofera. as i said earlier...
go to [ www.hennaforhair.com ] there is a lot of good information
also information on how to test if your red henna is natural or has added chemicals in it.

brown caca is the traditionnal color a 'henna' drawing should be i guess.
when i make henna on my skin i only use henna, and it does not leave a very dark stain. i've been unsatisfied with the results, and i always thought it was because my henna was not of a good enough quality, or that something was wrong with my mix... hm. i just don't know where to find pure indigo in montreal. thinking of it, i wonder if i could grow it! that would be great :)

i wish i could get henna to color as much as this:

is that the color it gave with the indigo? or what if you mix henna and indigo?
I'm feeling break time plz right now..

I'm feeling to be determined right now..
