The same thing goes on with music producers... If you don't use REAL gear, then you aren't a real producer :D
On the other hand, I try and use as much free stuff as I can, there is a lot of good free software (like buzz, although that shit is getting old now :D ) |

TONES bro, think about what you just said.. you said that its good to have creative Dj's.. well, the dj can be creative with the Mixer they are using to mix the music. And you don't need a vinyle to use a mixer. You just need some sort of sound outputting itself into your mixer.. Also, ever thought about HOME LISTENERS?? the entire electronic scene doesn't revolve around DJ's ya know.. there are still people that enjoy listening to some tech on there computers while doing there homework.. or while driving there cars.. try shoving a vinyle in your car record player..
This site is about sharing talent with people for an affordable price. not about how cool you think you are because you trainwreck trying to spin vinyles.. and its not even almost a debat on DJ's mixing with MP3's.. |

yea its pretty scarey to beatmatch without finger fucking .... god forbid youd use the slider like the rest of pro djs .do you even scratch ? lol . everything you guys say is just personal beefs .
but i change the ''software'' to : payment porn sites. do you get to have that as a material in your hands .. NO! you can print it , burn it ,ect ect . you pay to have the right to own it . same thing for mp3s now. all vinyl ends up on mp3 illegally . selling mp3s = you dont lose as much when released. but i wouldnt even bring that shit up if i were you anyway since you guys are ripping tracks/software from soulseek even if its just for ''enjoyment'' . |

Anyway, with the coming of new technologies, we won't be spinning vinyl forever. More and more djs are getting final scratch, and download mp3s on pay sites. It's basically the same as mixing vinyls, excepts that you can only play a record a certain number of times, but a mp3, you can play millions and millions of time. 1 vinyl = 15$ 1 mp3 = 2$. Plus, it's easier to carry a laptop than a crate of vinyls, and you can carry as much tracks as you want. Mp3s don't melt under the sun...
Do I need to continue? |

Not unless ur cable is jacked mr.tokyo:P I agree with fred on this one. Mp3's are coo. Paying for them?! wtf?! artists releasing mp3's is like free promo, free press. Its spreads thier talent fast n effiecntly. |

well it costs a lot more to cut a vinyl than to encode an mp3, so you'd have to be kind of crazy or having the backing of a label with money to give them out for free...
Copying an mp3 costs nothing in theory, so using them as a promotion is a feasible thing. One thing that kind of bothers me about digital distribution however is that the consumer does not get a complete package with the music... Even when I give away or sell cd-rs to people I like to at least include an okay cover and track listing... |
