Anything with a funky bassline, strange groove, and organic sounding percussion. <b>Styles played in the past?</b> First started buying detroit house and techno.. as a beginner dj I got frustrated with trying to mix these often complex sounds and I started buying trance which lasted less than a year. The funny thing was it was always my old records that I felt like playing when I was at home so here I am playing what I`ve always loved and still playing some of the first recs I ever bought. Oh, and I also owned like 10 breakbeat happyhardcore records that I played at a couple parties, but I have sold those since. <b>Years of experience acquired in General?</b> Have been a record collector since I was about 15, started buying techno when I was 17, eventually bought tables actual experience with tables, about 3 years. Not all of them very serious. <b>Years of experience acquired on the rave/party scene?</b> 4 years <b>Equipment used (turntables - cds - gear)?</b> First bought geminis, now techs cause that`s all you need and a smac mixer. <b>Favorite record labels?</b> Technasia, Definitive/+8, Redplanet, Teknotika, Purposemaker/Axis, International Deejay Gigolo, GAMB, Blacknation, Mosaic... <b>What was the first club/party you started spinning at?</b> The Townehouse <b>What was the first vinyl you bought when you started spinning?</b> Dj Enga by Ian o`Brien. Some weird british bubbly, trippy tech-house buying records was overwhelming at first. <b>What is your most prized vinyl in your collection?</b> Darren Price - Instigator DJ Valium - V-Flowers Jay Denham - 137 bpm Dark Ages - The Cave Agent Cooper - In the garden Random Noise Generation - Instrument of change Jeff Mills - Inner Self Funk D`Void (Octave One rmx) - Barnabeats <b>Do you enjoy the songs you play?</b> That is why i play them. To me the songs that a dj plays illustrates some of their personality. I guess because I assume that they are playing songs that they really like. <b>Do you ever get tired of hearing those songs?</b> Yes. I just put them in the back of the crate and in two weeks or less they are fresh again. <b>What's the strangest thing that's been said to you while DJing at a party?</b> Can i draw a comic of you? |
