WHEN THE SILENCE SETS IN
July 2010
Tenderness inside your skin
Just waiting for the signal
Remembering the lies we told
To make our lives more simple

Before the void gets filled with doubt
And everything bends out of shape
Let us forget the things we know
And everyone we cared about

Because unless we start to lie
And put those memories aside
The ugliness we let escape
Will hunt and never let us rest
But when the silence sets in
And it will
Find me in that place within
And stand still
All that ends will soon begin
I promise you
The universe will see us through
I know you want it too
And all the different places
Will soon begin to fade
And all the different faces
Will tangle in a mess
We’ll find ourselves lost in a maze
Inside of which we can undress

We won’t know who we are
But I don't think it matters
For ignorance is bliss
And all it does is make it better
But when the silence sets in
And it will
Find me in that place within
And stand still
All that ends will soon begin
I promise you
The universe will see us through
I know you want it too
It’s not because I cry a lot
That I fail to see the plot
A story of a child's loss
Is not that big a fuss

My wounds are covered with the fairy dust
I found inside my head
On a shelter made of pink and fluff
With everything we left unsaid
But when the silence sets in
And it will
Find me in that place within
And stand still
All that ends will soon begin
I promise you
The universe will see us through
I know you want it too
