| Extras: | Duality Gallery is a platform to exhibit visionary and contemporary artwork united by a common theme. Artists from around the world, including expert professionals as well as blossoming new talent, will present their work exploring the theme Duality: An Awakening of Consciousness. It may be believed that much of humanity has muted its own consciousness and left it to sleep. Distracted by the constant bombardment of the media, forced into competition driven by ego, and numbed to the reality of worldwide human suffering, many have chosen to reject, rather than to embrace, all aspects of our universal consciousness. If we understand that the world is essentially living asleep, we can understand the need for an awakening of consciousness. Without religious connotations, this concept explores the duality of the awakened and the dormant consciousness. This concept recognizes our primordial animal instincts as well as our ability to embrace our evolving higher selves. Artists are exploring the need for each side of these sides of our selves, and expressing their insight through a variety of mediums. Artists will present work ranging in medium from traditional oil and acrylic canvasses, to digital design, photography, multimedia projection installations, three dimensional sculpture, as well as live performances. Our gallery space will feature the GaiaSphere Café and Lounge environment, offering you drinks, snacks, and world lounge chill out music. Artists wishing to submit their work to take part in the project can do so via the online form http://goo.gl/forms/QtZ0rBt5E8 Deadline for submissions will be extended until Friday, April 17th. Selected artists will be given more information and be invited to join discussion groups ad workshops in April to further explore the concept of Duality. In support of the artists , a silent auction will be held throughout the night for selected works. Full list of exhibited artists will be posted closer to the event.. |
