DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, April 1\, 2005 Kapacity Entertainment proudly presents the 2005 \nDMC Technics Ottawa Elimination with special guest Rjd2. This year we're \nalso featuring The Eastern Canada BBoy Summit. \n\nThe best DJ's in Ottawa and surrounding areas will battle for turntable \nsupremacy in the prestigious DMC Competition. The top turntablist will earn \nan opportunity to represent Canada at the World Final in Paris\, France. 2-time Ottawa and 2004 Canadian Head-2-Head Champion\, DJ Drastik\, will be defending his title. \n\n\nFollowing last year's sold-out De La Soul show at Capital Music Hall\, this \nyear's special guest is Producer / DJ Rjd2. This Definitive Jux recording \nartist will be playing an exclusive 2-hour live DJ set. Rj's breakout solo \ndebut\, Dead Ringer\, sent listeners on a musical foray into instrumentalism\, \nfeasting on styles both old and new\, and in the process creating a sound \nthat's emerging as one of the most interesting and exciting new voices in \ninstrumental music. \n\nDead Ringer was an incredible success globally\, appearing on many a year end \nlist\, including Spin's Top 40 Albums of 2002. Since then Rjd2 has become one \nof the most talked about artists. He has performed worldwide and has shared \nthe stage with the likes of DJ Shadow\, El-P and the Def Jux crew\, David \nLynch\, The Roots and Prefuse 73. \n\nAnother addition to this year's event is " The Eastern Canada BBoy Summit "\, \nhosted by Esoteric Soul Movement. Featuring 8 of Canada's Top BBoys Crew \nbattling it out in a 3-on-3 competition for a $500 cash prize. \n\nCrews invited are: Supernaturalz (Toronto)\, DDT (Toronto)\, Drunken Monkz \n(Toronto)\, Illmatic (Montreal)\, Flow Roc (Montreal)\, Funkfanatix (Toronto)\, \nSpeed Roc (Outaouais)\, and Quad Squad (Ottawa). This is a highly anticipated \nevent amongst the BBoy community.
