YARRA SOUND invites CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM (UK) & SAWAYA SOUND (CA)\n\nChannel One Sound System is back in Montreal!\n\nAfter an unforgettable session together in 2024\, Yarra Sound is proud to welcome back the most legendary and respected Sound Systems in the world for another heavyweight night of Roots\, Reggae & Dub.\n\nWith over 40 years of Sound System history\, Mikey Dread & Ras Sherby will bring the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival to Montreal\, selecting conscious Roots Reggae\, exclusive dubplates and heavyweight Steppas\, powered by the Yarra Sound System.\nChannel One is led by Mikey Dread\, original selector\, playing strictly vinyl from his iconic single turntable setup. Alongside him\, Ras Sherby brings Rastafarian chanting and conscious lyrics over the music.\n\nBorn in London and active since the late 1970s\, Channel One has become one of the most internationally recognized names in Sound System culture. Their mission is simple: “to break down barriers via reggae music.”\n\nFrom their legendary sessions at Notting Hill Carnival to sound system dances and festivals across Europe and DJ sets around the world\, Channel One has spent decades spreading Roots music\, positive messages and upliftment to new generations.\n\n-> On September 19th\, they return to Montreal for a very special session with Yarra Sound.\n\nSAWAYA (Montreal)\nAlso joining the session is Sawaya\, deeply involved in Montreal’s reggae sound system scene and a former member of WorldWild Soundsystem. His selections range from deep Roots to Dub Steppa\, always driven by Roots & Culture vibrations and a unifying spirit.\nAlso active as a graphic designer within the scene\, Sawaya is the artist behind the poster for this event.\n\n\nExpect heavyweight bass\, strictly vinyl selections\, exclusive dubplates\, Roots\, Dub & Steppers all night long…\nThis is more than a party.

YARRA SOUND invite CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM (UK) & SAWAYA SOUND (CA)\n\nChannel One Sound System est de retour à Montréal!\nAprès une première session mémorable ensemble en 2024\, Yarra Sound est fier d'accueillir à nouveau l'un des Sound Systems les plus légendaires et respectés au monde pour une nouvelle nuit de Roots\, Reggae & Dub.\n\nAvec plus de 40 ans d'histoire Sound System\, Mikey Dread & Ras Sherby ramèneront à Montréal l'esprit du carnaval de Notting Hill\, entre Roots Reggae conscient\, dubplates exclusifs et Steppas puissants\, le tout propulsé par le Yarra Sound System. \nChannel One est dirigé par Mikey Dread\, selecta original qui joue exclusivement sur vinyles depuis son emblématique setup à une seule platine. À ses côtés\, Ras Sherby accompagne les sélections de chants rastafari et de paroles conscientes.\n\nNé à Londres et actif depuis la fin des années 1970\, Channel One est devenu l'un des noms les plus reconnus internationalement de la culture Sound System. Leur mission est simple : « briser les barrières à travers la musique reggae ».\n\nDes sessions légendaires du carnaval de Notting Hill aux dances Sound System et festivals à travers l'Europe\, en passant par leurs sessions aux quatre coins du monde\, Channel One diffuse depuis plusieurs décennies une musique Roots consciente\, positive et fédératrice.\n\n-> Le 19 septembre\, ils sont de retour à Montréal pour une session très spéciale avec Yarra Sound.\n\nSAWAYA (Montréal)\nÉgalement présent pour cette session\, Sawaya est impliqué depuis plusieurs années dans la scène sound system reggae montréalaise. Ancien membre de WorldWild Soundsystem\, il partage des sélections allant du Deep Roots au Dub Steppa\, portées par des vibes Roots & Culture et une approche rassembleuse.\nGraphiste actif dans le milieu\, il signe également l’affiche de cet événement.\n\nAttendez-vous à des basses puissantes\, des sélections strictement vinyles\, des dubplates exclusives\, du Roots\, Dub & Steppers toute la nuit…\n\nCe n'est pas juste une soirée.
