SUMMARY:Play Guitar (Lp Release)\, Freelove Fenner\, D'eon
LOCATION:Casa Del Popolo

DESCRIPTION:$6 or get in free if you buy a copy of the record for $12.\n\nHere's a thing Byron Coley wrote in Wire about the Play Guitar 7":\n\nCanadian trio with a solid outside fix on pop dynamics. They have a jittery edge that recalls The Feelies a bit\, but it's wrapped in something both doughy and disjointed. Does that mean it sounds like The Bongos? Not really.\n\nFreelove Fenner are writing\, playing\, and recording some of the finest and most personable jangle pop going. To my ears\, they're the cream of the crop over at Fixture Records\, and something about them brings to mind Let's Active and the dB's first two LP's (you know\, the good ones). Staunch mid-fi tape enthusiasts who don't give two shits about TermBo garage rock deserve more props than they get these days!\n\nhttp://www.myspace.com/freelovefenner\n\nd'Eon is well worth your time and attention. When I first heard New Jack Swing being used as a reference point for his stuff\, I was all like\, Yeah Right\, but then I listened to "Factions" (it's on his myspace) and it shut me up real quick. He also plays in the excellent Omon Ra II\, who lay down the Bo Diddley beats with aplomb.\n\nhttp://www.myspace.com/chrispdeon\n\nhttp://www.myspace.com/playguitarplayguitar
