This umbrella term encompasses dubstep\, b-more\, liquid funk\, breaks\, neurofunk\, dancehall\, reggae\, mash-up\, electro\, grime\, booty house\, jungle\, trip hop\, breakcore\, ghetto tech\, big beat\, jump-up\, drum’n’bass\, tech-step\, liquid funk\, garage\, bassline house.\n\nEvery Thursday at Club Passeport 2037 St-Denis.\n\n************\nTHIS WEEK\n************\n\nLOETECH (Toronto)\nXI & Bombaman\n\nLoetech’s XI and Matt Carl (aka Bombaman) have played a key part in bringing the UK dubstep sound to Toronto dance floors.\n\nBut they haven’t been afraid to throw other flavours into the mix. Both are producing tracks on their own as well\, and their take on the London sound is already making its way back across the ocean onto European dance floors.\n\nYou can find their tracks on a variety of labels\, including Lo Dubs\, Off Road\, Aufect\, Dubstep Digital and Formant\, and an EP is coming soon on Surface Tension.\n\nThey’ve been getting international play from dubstep artists like Joe Nice\, Headhunter\, TRG\, Rob Booth and Synkro\, and some of their solo tracks have been getting love from hipster heroes like Diplo\, Crookers and the Trouble & Bass crew.\n\nWHAT THEY SOUND LIKE...\n“UK bass with really bad bipolar.”\n\n“People need to identify with the music and stop using the music to identify themselves.
