Réalisé par GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine)\, au studio The Farm à Gibsons (BC)\, cet album de rock lourd réunit les influences (punk\, melodique\, psychédélique) qui ont crée le son unique de Grimskunk. Claviers rococos et débiles\, guitares décapantes\, rythmes percussifs et voix melodiques sur textes tant fantaisistes qu'engagés\, Fires under the road met en vedette pour la première fois Vince Peake a la basse et aux choeurs. Le son lourd\, revendicatif et original du groupe se distingue sur des chansons telles Fires under the road\, Psychedelic wonderdrug\, America sucks ou Divide and conquer.
