Figure incontournable de la scène Techno, il a remporté le Beatport Music Awards en 2010 dans la catégorie Minimal / Techno. Au Brésil, il est considéré comme l'un des meilleurs producteurs de musique électronique de sa génération, avec plus de 200 morceaux à son actif. La gang de Contakt est très fière de l'accueillir pour une toute première fois à Montréal, c'est pourquoi nous vous attendons en grand nombre question de célébrer ce dernier rendez-vous avant la saison des festivals !

To thank you for your support and your incredible energy throughout the year, we've invited a very special guest from Rio de Janeiro: GLITTER! A not-to-be missed artist in the Techno scene, he won a Beatport Music Award in 2010 in the Minimal/Techno category. In Brazil, he is considered one of the top producers of electronic music of his generation, having released over 200 tracks. The Contakt crew are honored to welcome him for his first appearance in Montreal, which is why we're looking forward to seeing lots of party people come out to celebrate one last time before the festival season kicks off!

Les Breaking Brothers nous offrirons du Breakbeat qui déménage et pour terminer la soirée Dj Anima fera vibrer le dance floor avec un set Psy-Break !

TOTEM 2013

Pour sa seconde édition, le Festival Totem vous donne à nouveau rendez pour une fin de semaine en plein air. De nombreux artistes locaux et internationaux se succéderont pendant près de trois jours dans un petit paradis de verdure au bord de l'eau. Le festival ouvrira ses portes le vendredi 26 juillet à 15h et s’achèvera le dimanche 28 juillet à 19h.

Totem mêle grands espaces, arts numériques et musiques électroniques.

LES CHUTES DE STE-AGATHE

Situé à 2h30 de Montréal et à 1h de Québec, le site des Chutes de Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière se trouve au coeur d'une réserve naturelle , un lieu incomparable pour camper sous les arbres, plonger dans la rivière ou encore profiter du soleil sur la plage.

À cet égard, nous faisons appel à votre collaboration et nous vous demandons de ne rien laisser derrière vous. Des poubelles et des bacs de récupération seront visibles à plusieurs endroits sur le site. De plus, les bouteilles de verre et la baignade de nuit seront interdites par mesure de sécurité.

Spiral Tribe / Expressillon (UK)

Depuis 1991 Crystal Distortion a toujours été un avant-gardiste des expérimentations musicales. Il a été signé par le label Rising High avant ses vingt ans et a sorti sous divers alias des œuvres qui ont marqué les esprits.

En tant que membre de Spiral Tribe, il a joué un rôle important dans la définition de la direction musicale du sound system. Pratiquant à la fois la production et le live , il est rapidement devenu un des artistes les plus acclamés d’Europe. Il a posé sa marque très personnelle sur la plupart des styles électroniques des 20 dernières années, et son extraordinaire capacité à tordre la technologie pour ouvrir de nouvelles dimensions en a fait une icône.

Broken Robot rec / Lot 49 (UK)

Steve Young aka Hedflux synthétise un brillant nouvel horizon dans la musique élèctronique. Alliant une grosse dose de tech-funk et psychedelique le résultat est un hybrid charactérisé par sa précision au laser, ses “grooves“ ainsi qu’une énergie hypnotique.

La pièce phare de 2010 “Mindcell” démontre le style d’Hedflux. Passant dix semaines au top des ventes “beatport breaks” et devenant la troisième meilleure vente des pièces breaks de l’année, Mindcell à gagné la mention meilleure pièce 2011 au “Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards”. Steve à aussi reçu les nominations de meilleur nouveau producteur et nouveau DJ avec Broken Robot Records nominé meilleur label et meilleur nouveau label.

TOTEM 2013

The second edition of the Totem Festival is coming so get ready for another memorable weekend in nature.
For almost three days, many local and international artists will be performing on the waterfront in a stunning outdoor location. The gates will open at 3pm on Friday, July 26th and the festivities end at 7pm on Sunday, July 28th.

Totem festival offers the ideal mix of the great outdoors with digital arts and electronic music.

Don't miss out on the good times!


STE-AGATHE WATERFALLS

Located 2.5 hrs from Montreal, the site des Chutes (Waterfalls) de Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbiniere is found in a natural reserve, and is the perfect place for camping under the shade of the surrounding trees, swimming in the winding river or soaking up the sun on the beach.

Therefore, we ask for your collaboration and that you leave no trace behind. There will be garbage and recycling bins available in various locations around the site.

For your safety, glass bottles are prohibited as well as swimming at night.

Since 1991, Crystal Distortion has been an avantgardist with his approach to musical experimentation. He was signed by the label Rising High before the age of 20 and under various aliases has released volumes of music that has inspired many fans.

As a member of Spiral Tribe, he played an important role in defining the musical direction of the sound system movement. Blending music production into his live performances, he quickly became one of the most acclaimed artists in Europe. Depuis la création du groupe en 2002, Praktisch et Slush ont su aiguiser leur son sans répit, enchaînant les productions et les lives. Egalement impliqués depuis dix ans dans le label BEE Records, les deux gentils affreux s’inspirent de leurs influences diverses pour créer leur propre univers, jouant à saute moutons entre electronica, breakbeat, techno ou electro.

Déjà auteur de 4 maxis plébiscités par la critique et d’un album entré dans la plupart des playlists de 2007, le duo de choc nous revient enfin avec un maxi ravageur, "Monkey Money" annonciateur d’un second album pour l’automne 2010.

En période de crise, Paral-lel ne pouvait s’empêcher de s’inspirer de l’actualité. Le terme Monkey Money est emprunté au vocabulaire des traders pour nommer le beau billet vert qui a fait pâlir d’envie la planète entière et qui est aujourd’hui vulgairement relégué au rang de papier. De la même manière c'est à peu près au même moment que la musique, transformée en or au siècle dernier, est devenue monnaie de singe!

Paral-lel, sera accompagné de toute l'equipe du Cruz Control : Banditos, Yankat, Kasdal, VJ Ma", HpNoTik et Mizette.
