C'est un peu comme la petite fille qui criait au loup, le jour où c'était vrai personne ne l'a aidé! Organiser un gros party c'est vraiment pas facile, surtout les derniers jours, y'a toujours plein d'imprévus, on aimerait que ce soit simple mais c'est finalement compliqué... |

1000$ Location 500$ Location Security Deposit 750$ Sound, Lights, Transport 250$ Security 300$ DJs 200$ Extras So the minimum amount of money you should have for a 250 person party is 3000$. If you don't have that available, don't make a large party in a location which holds 400 people. Add an extra 1000$ for cool homemade deco. No one wants to hear that they will be paid with door money. |

| Coolness: 79395 | ^^^ Yup, and that list even seems like a bare minimum to me. what about regular staff (door, stalls, bars, coatcheck, etc.) or promotion (flyers, posters, online/magazine/newspaper ads, etc.). Those seem costly too.
What kind of security do you get for 250$ though? I assumed it would cost way more than that to hire professional security. ABOUT THE PARTY... The circumstances are very sad and unfortunate, I hope Simon gets better soon. That being said, I don't recall seeing a single flyer anywhere for this party. If that says anything about the whole promotion effort, the cancellation might be for the best after all... We wouldn't have wanted to see you guys under a pile of debts because of low attendance. On a more personal note, I'm also slightly annoyed. I actually learned about the cancellation through word of mouth, and pretty much by coincidence! I had a busy day on friday, and I wasn't on the internet, checking [ rave.ca ] every now and then to make sure the party was still happening. A personal phone call, no matter how last minute, would have been greatly appreciated. |
