 Coolness: 34725 | I'm leaving for paris in march,24th for a week. Does anyone know if there are any raves in paris around that date.

but they have good djs regularly, and the residents are ok (manu le malin, elisa do brasil, laurent hô, ...) other (better) places for regular club parties are : triptyque, glaz'art, la java (belleville), zorba café, (la cantine du) batofar, ... and sometimes, bigger events at : cabaret sauvage, trabendo, la loco(motive), le nouveau casino, ... usually the parties are from 10pm/midnight to 5am/7am for genuine raves (i mean illegal free parties) you have to know some people who know of the event ("la teuf") and have a car to go outside paris (in the countryside). there are lots of them every weekend in france, and if you get to know the right people you'll probably find one around paris during the week you're coming. anyway, both freepartying and clubbing are rather different from what's going on in montreal. montreal-like raves don't exist in france. there's never been dress codes, candy ravers, north-american happy hardcore, glowsticks, etc... moreover it's too early to know what'll be going on at that time. check there a few days before : [ www.toolboxrecords.com ] [ www.lavibe.fr ] [ www.paristeuf.net ] [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.myspace.com ] [ www.trabendo.fr ] |

You're saying that raves in Canada are not like the ones in France... Other than no dress codes, candy ravers and glowsticks (which is too bad), are there any other important things I would need to know?? Is it more 'dangerous' than here ?? etc thanks again!! |

| Coolness: 146235 | free parties are more "dangerous" in the sense that they're illegal and cops are not friendly at all with that. also, if you're buying drugs, there are more chances that you'll get crap compared to montreal (from my experience), so be careful.
clubbing kinda reflects the difference of human warmth between french and quebecois : you may not be able to find someone to talk to in a whole club night ! most people will just ignore you (which i never saw in montreal). it really depends on the music genre / place /... and their associated crowds. you won't see much fucked up people in clubs, compared to raves in montreal. also, club nights are mostly one-styled : all djs will play the same genre, by and large. for the other differences, you'll see by yourself :) |
