While busy mixing other producers' singles, he felt the growing need to start producing himself. But major success in Japan started a new chapter in his DJ career. In 1995 Tokyo's most famous club 'The Velfarre' asked Gielen to come and play there every week. In between gigs Gielen managed to fly to his studios in Belgium.
In his long career Johan Gielen has played all ove the place. Recently he's played at 'Trance Energy', Mystery Land and the Heineken Dance Parade, as well as the Blackhole Wild Live party in the Dutch club Melkweg (Amsterdam). Last summer Johan was asked to play at the Love Parade in Berlin (Germany)... but too bad, he was already booked at 'Privilege' in Ibiza -which is where he came to Tangled's attention.
