Known for his exotic blends of Latin / Brazilian / Tribal House and Dancehall Reggae,
his sets are all about Soulful Latin Grooves, Booty-Shaking Beats, Flutes, Horns, Percussion,
Sensual Female Vocals, Trippy Textures and Sweaty Dancefloors.
DJ GUAPO has performed in Montreal, Mexico City, Quebec City & Toronto.
He has been producing tracks since 1993.
He played guitar in Tribal House group QUICKSOUND from 1997-98, performing at raves such as the Bal en Blanc and at clubs such as Unity.
He began DJ'ing in 1998, spinning drum n bass under the name "lowkey" until being reborn as a house DJ on New Year's Eve 2000.
He quickly grew a mustache and renamed himself DJ GUAPO.
In February of 2000, he founded record label & recording studio FINITE RECORDS which specialises in composing original music for Film & TV.
For his DJ sets, DJ GUAPO is frequently accompanied by additional musicians playing percussion, horns, labtop, synth, bass..
He accompanied Free Jazz Ensemble THE OHMZ QUINTET for their 2004 performance at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
He often collaborates with VJ's and has performed with Moment Factory, Les Technocrates, Fluid, Jocool & Ladyroll ..
He has DJ'd in Montreal at venues such as :
The Olympic Stadium, Rialto Theatre, Metropolis, S.A.T., ARIA, Exit, Living, Mile End Bar,
O Patro Vys, Blizzart’s, Sofa, Turbo, Le Sugar, La Sala Rosa, Club 357, Luba Lounge, U-Lounge,

His work composing music for Film and Television earned him a nomination for the
2002 JUTRA AWARD : BEST ORIGINAL SCORE for the film "Danny in the Sky".
He recently finished composing the score and licensing all the tracks for the film "PURE" :
a coming of age story set in the heart of Montreal's clubland.
The biggest project he composed music for was a European Horror / Suspense TV series starring OMAR SHARIF !
The series is called Urban Myth Chillers.
The episode : "Catwalk".
