Series has been pretty awesome. Been downloading the 720p files and it looks pretty fucking awesome. I'm a huge fan of the books and gotta say I'm impressed with how awesome the show has turned out. Season 2 = book 2, which was the best book, so I'm looking forward to it very much!

Supervisor Tipsy's talking about isn't there any more.

Well, it's that time of year again. Half our helpdesk staff are heading back to school and going part time so we need to find more people to fill in the gaps. If you're fluently bilingual, presentable, and polite, I've got a job offer for you. It's doing technical support for interac terminals ... it's generally easy and not that hectic or stressful. Call load is light compared to other call centres like bell etc.

Half our helpdesk is comprised of ravers / former ravers ... Tipsy used to work there and currently Boozer and Dentzenzu or whatever Alex's [ rave.ca ] name is also works here. I'm not willing to discuss pay in the forums and this is the first time I've logged into [ Rave.ca ] in 4 months so just email me with questions or preferably your resume and your nickname on here so i can scope you out!

The front door entrance is enclosed to keep people walking in from being hit by skaters and bikers. There's not a huge safety concern in having the door enclosed, but technically you're not supposed to. The speakers were blocking the exit because we had to turn the entire sound system sideways at 10:30 because of sound clash issues. We didn't realize the exit was blocked until the cops pointed it out.

As an update, we've been in touch with Luna-C and he has said he's willing to work with us for a make up show. Synergy and Project Mayhem are sitting down for the first time tonight for a meeting and we should have more to report back very soon on plans for a makeup. As for all the messages in my inbox, there seems to be something wrong with [ rave.ca ] at the moment but i'll respond to your messages tommorow at the latest.

Hi guys ... going to follow this up with a complete explanation later when i'm not so exhausted and can put my thoughts together

1. It was not sound issues that got the party shut down.
2. The police gave us two reasons for the shutdown which i offered to fix (speakers blocking an exit and an enclosure around an exit). After i told them we were happy to fix these issues immediately the cop said "Look, you can shut the party down now or I'll have the fire department come and they can fine you for every single tiny issue that's wrong with this place."

The venue was no more or less 'illegal' or 'unsafe' than any of the other warehouse venues we've used over the 3 years of throwing parties in Montreal. In fact, this event had more security on hand than ever to guarantee tight control and safety was in effect. The fact that the cops arrived en mass makes me believe that the shutdown was a foregone conclusion before they even stepped through the door. I'll explain further on that but at the moment I'm tired, sick, and exhausted from the weekend. Obviously this is the worst possible scenario that could have happened and we're working to figure out how we'll compensate for it. Those who know us know that we always work things out in the end. It's just more complicated than just announcing something : we did not give ticket stubs back at this event so figuring out who to compensate becomes pretty damned tricky. However, we will figure something out.

Hey guys ... as Julien said we're both heartbroken and exhausted over what happened ... I have been up all day today sorting out the 1001 issues that come with such a shitty experience. I have not had the time to read all your thoughts and comments yet ... I will do this tommorow and respond fully to everyone I can. For now I will say this : Those who still have tickets, please message me so we can sort something out. Those without, we are working to figure out a solution to the issue of refunds / compensation and will have something figured out in the next few days.

Those who still need to be paid from the party, please message me as well!

Thanks guys ... we appreciate the support and trust. The party will not get shut down! Last time an event i was involved with was shut down was like 3 years ago, we offered people refunds or guestlist for a year to all our events. So don't worry, no matter what we would never screw over the people in our scene.

We're not worried. Synergy has almost 10 years of experience dealing with police and fire departments. We have a legal counsel on hand and know exactly what our rights are as far as zoning, fire, and noise. The party WILL NOT be shut down.

Pride is adopting the 'unified rules' ... no more soccer kicks or knees on the ground, but elbows are allowed again. Pride is also adopting the UFC's weight class system, meaning there'll be a new welterweight division. Very interesting times indeed.

Yep the other one was good but this one is even better! A couple of factors made us change our mind ... having beer at the party was one thing. A few of the other things, you'll find out later :-)

This sucks really bad ... I wish that we could help more, we talked to the venue we're using for Back to the Groove but they can't do it this weekend :(

Look, there are good and bad:

Good : Friendly owner who cares about the rave scene
Good : It's an affordable venue, he doesn't bleed promoters
Good : Two LARGE rooms
Good : Beer

Bad : Kinda far away
Bad : OVERUSED.


Anyways, I love Fractale ... we used it three times for our parties before people got bored of it. However now I won't throw any more parties there for a long time because people are tired. That's just how it works ... people want something new. Perhaps if Fractale rented less and only to really big/good parties, they could get the excitement level back. But i don't run the place and i don't pretend to know the situation there. personally I think Fractale is doing pretty well for itself.

Long story short: If you don't like the place, don't go. If you don't go, then promoters will stop over renting it!

Super oldschool venue in the pipe. It's not Fractale ... it's not Unione Francais ... it's something oldschool that people who have been around for 3+ years will remember :-D

IMPORTANT announcement here ... there was a problem with getting the glowsticks in for the party, so we are looking for some! If you know anyone with glowsticks, bring them or have them come!
