Après un passage remarqué au Showcase MEG Repérages@Divan Orange cet hiver, Pom Pom War revient à la charge cet été ! Née en 2007, cette formation montréalaise, inspirée du son et des performances psychédéliques de groupes phares des années 70 et 90, atteint toute sa quintessence sur scène lors de lives costumés « louder than war ».

Pom Pom War prône un rock electro, garage, trashy post-punk et post apocalyptique … Taquins et costumés, ils font usages de mélodies d’une entêtante simplicité, n’hésitant pas à avoir recours aux beats électroniques de destruction massive. Un tapis de bombes d’une heure guidé par les stridulations sensuelles d’une Caro définitivement possédée une fois le micro en mains.

Pour ceux qui n’auraient pas encore entendu parler de The Man Machine, peut-être que l’ancien crew Sexyboy vous mettra la puce à l’oreille. En effet trois membres du groupe sont issus de cette formation montréalaise, comme Christophe, également ingénieur son pour We Are Wolves et fondateur de l’excitant projet sonore et visuel Organ Mood, qui sera aussi à l’affiche du MEG Montréal cette année.

Un défouloir éclairé, parfait pour les dancefloors, animé par la touche electro du Man Machine, inspiré par le groupe Kraftwerk que le groupe reprend pour trouver son nom, et une batterie à vous faire résonner la cage thoracique comme un bon vieux C-3PO dont on aurait retiré tous les circuits intégrés.

Après un passage remarqué cet hiver aux Showcases MEG
Repérages@Divan Orange, Transport est une des révélations du nouveau concept réalisé cette année avec nos amis du Divan. Transport, c'est le projet d'un seul homme. Ami de toutes les machines, il opère. Il appuie sur plusieurs touches et espère avoir le temps de gesticuler entre chaque commande. Transport c'est aussi le phantasme irrésolu du pur analogue.

C'est donc un hybride entre moyen actuel et sonorité old school. Plus jeune, il fait ses classes en écoutant les bandes sonores de jeux vidéo 8-bit ainsi qu'un mixtape des groupes rock année 90 subtilisé à un ami. Le Grunge n'étant plus à la mode, il opte aujourd'hui pour l'électro et espère tout détruire avec son Bitcrush de qualité moindre.

Le canadien DJ Brace a démarré sa carrière il y a une dizaine d’années à Montréal, avec les étiquettes de turntablist, producteur et professeur en djing. En 2004 il devient champion DMC du Canada et atteint la 8ème place mondiale.
Sa notoriété lui a permis de partager la scène avec des artistes de renommée internationale comme Coldcut, et de jouer dans différents lieux du globe : Tel-Aviv, Londres, Vienne et un peu partout en Amérique du Nord.

After a striking stop at the MEG Scouting Showcase @ Divan Orange last winter, Pom Pom War is back again this summer ! Founded in 2007, the Montreal-based crew that is inspired by the psychedelic sounds and performances of 70s and 90s forerunner bands reaches all of its quintessence on stage during live performances that are louder than war.
Pom Pom War prones an electro, garage, trashy post-punk, and post apocalyptic rock … They perform on one guitar while wearing playful costumes, and play simple melodies without fearing the use of massive destruction electronic beats. Be ready for a one-hour land mine that is guided by Caro’s sensual stridulations, who is definitively possessed once she's got the microphone in hand.

For those of you who still haven’t heard of The Man Machine, perhaps the late Sexyboy crew will ring a bell. Three band members of this group now compose The Man Machine, along with Christophe, who is also a sound engineer for We Are Wolves and founder of the exciting sound and visual project Organ Mood, also part of this year’s lineup.

A brightly lit let-go, perfect for dancefloors, animated by an electro touch, inspired by the Kraftwerk which inspired the band name, and a drum set that will resonate throughout your thorax like a good old C-3PO that is freed from its integrated circuits.

Spotted this winter at the MEG Scouting Showcases @ Divan Orange, Transport is one of the breakthrough acts discovered at this series of shows. Transport is a solo project. A friend to all machines, he operates. He presses on multiple buttons and if he has time, makes a move between each control. Transport is also the unresolved fantasy of pure analogue technology.

Thus, it is a hybrid between current means and old school sonority. When he was younger, he learnt his art by listening to 8-bit video game soundtracks and a friend-made mixtape of 90s rock bands. Grunge having slipped out of fashion, he opts today for the electro genre and hopes to destroy everything with his Bitcrush of doubtful quality.

Canadian DJ Brace started his career ten years ago in Montreal with labels attached to his name ranging from turntablist, producer to djing professor. In 2004, he becomes DMC champion of Canada and reaches the 8th global rank.

His notoriety has allowed him to share the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Coldcut, and to perform in international locations such as Tel-Aviv, London, Vienna and all around North America.
