| Description: | The Montreal Future Garage Collective very proudly presents the first of a series of one off events: ★★ SEXUAL HEALING ★★ featuring: ★ ★ ★ ★ PANGAEA (UK) ★ ★ ★ ★ Hessle Audio, Hotflush Recordings 23-year-old Kevin McAuley began making music with a two-track mixer, a keyboard and a tape deck as a schoolboy. Discovering dubstep via the sounds of Mala in the backroom of a Leeds club in 2005, Kevin was inspired to found the city’s first dubstep night, Ruffage, and launched himself into the studio. Pangaea enters 2009 as an established DJ/producer and co-owner of Hessle Audio with fellow stalwarts Ramadanman and Ben UFO. Their young label is already the subject of much critical acclaim from discerning dubstep and techno fans and responsible for progressive, landmark releases including TRG’s ‘Broken Heart’, Ramadanman’s ‘Blimey’, Pangaea’s own ‘Coiled EP’, ‘Router’ and ‘You & I’ alongside material from likeminded producers Untold and Martyn. His DJ schedule is rapidly picking up pace with consistent bookings across Europe and a burgeoning reputation as a true pioneer behind the decks; a notion backed up by Mary Anne Hobbs who described his recent mix for BBC Radio 1 as “texturally one of the most exquisite mixes of the year…breathtakingly beautiful in every way.” with ★ HIRSHI & PHLEGHM (NYC) ★ [ Wnyu.org ] Future Blank Hirshi & Phleghm are two bass cadets and music lovers from Brooklyn. Championing underground beats through their weekly [ WNYU.org ] radio spot, The Grime Machine (Sundays 6-8PM EST), the duo has already contributed to a vibrant and growing scene in the New York metropolitan area with their new monthly series Blank. Having performed with the likes of Noah D, Dave Q, Liondub, Incyde and more, these two cats are ready to impress with their forward-thinking selections and unique tandem-turntablism. Crew founder / front man DJ BUS earned his stripes mixing MTL loft parties last summer.
