first.. what is your level or education? what are those classes you talkin' about? do you have any particular relevant skills(like are you expert in Photoshop or do you have a red cross cpr/lifeguard card) ? what is your age? what is your past work experiences? are you fit? what are your long term goals? what are your passions? music? books? lego? taking care of pets or old peeps?etc etc now basically what i just asked you here is what should be on your resume... and what should guide your search! if you need help or resources you should contact emploi-quebec... you have the chance to be in a country that have tones of work and education programs.. [ emploiquebec.net ] also if your long time objective is to do for example... commercial audio work in a studio (being sound engineer or sometin'), i suggest you to be super humble and open the commercial phone book and find the studio in Montreal.. they often need assistant and entry levels people... now you tell me fuck that shit i;m no assistant to no one i'm not going to go get coffee for other engineer so during that time they play with the big boy toys in the studio! but the thing is that everybody can do entry level job.. like assistant.. and the only thing that matter is how really good you are going to do it and respect the hierarchy.. and with a smile.. but the great thing about entry level jobs in skilled type of environment is that there is just one way: up!.. i know very famous people who started their career getting the coffee for other back then famous people.. and sometimes they got treated like shit and well after few months.. the big boy asked them their opinion and hanged out with them and got them to play on the big boy toys (that kinda could sound sexual here or bad connotation but i really do mean the music console!).. and next thing you know.. there was a new assistant level entry young dude and them.. they were on their first project.. also check for part-time internship// sometimes it really get you somewhere.. make you meet people// networking is a big part of the process of searching a job so i don't think your initiative of posting that here was that stupid like others think... the only thing i would reproach your thread is that again there was no details.. no incentive or anything really who would make me go .. oh! let me pass that thread(bc there is no resume or no details!) to one of my connections so they can find a job nao to that guy... hehe and if you just want a job for the $ to get by.. go on journal de montreal site or look on craigslist.. call center or retail sale store or hospitality always good for getting by...(unless you are one of these individual which i really do admire.. a small percent of hc servers or saleperson who are really passionate by that lifestyle/job/career) |
