[ soundcloud.com ] I originally intended to get this mix done in time for Samhain -- which begins at sundown October 31st through November 1st. Samhain was traditionally a very important day for us Celts - probably the most important day in the ancient Irish calendar. and since I was born on Samhain, I wanted to represent with a proper darkside mix in its honour. Unfortunately, due to sound card troubles and my hard drive failing, this was not to be.. so I had the records sitting in a crate all this time, waiting to get my recording gear sorted.. and I finally did. Although it's being posted in January, in spirit, it's a tribute to Samhain / Day of the Dead - so it's pure darkage hope you enjoy! and feedback is greatly appreciated, so leave me some comments here or in the soundcloud mix

I mean pure 1993 darkside jungle vibes - which, as Fishead said, was more about deep atmospheric darkness.. back then it was all about paranoid dark or melancholy vibes with strange samples and melodies, and some uplifting peaks for contrast. perfect for people high on MDMA and LSD, as many were |

I miss all my MTL peeps! I was gonna come for Hallowe'en, but we have a lot of big trees, so there was a tonne of leaves that had to get raked up and bagged that weekend. then I planned on coming for New Years Eve, but the night before, I came down with a flu bug and was sick all that day, so I had to cancel plans. I actually wound up just staying in bed with my laptop until I felt better lol. will def. come out soon though. we gotta link up and have pints at Forward or something |
