Just because you don't know how to dance doesn't mean people can't dance to dubstep eh.

Someone who knows how to dance will be able to dance on pretty much anything, reallly. Lack of imagination and too much drugs is the problem with the crowds (both in the dubstep scene and others).

I can definitely dance to dubstep, and I'm not the only one.

That's a video of Tiny Love:

Not sure I'd call what Tiny Love does dancing... that's more a performance, I forget what the style is called.

Not sure you need to know HOW to dance to dance to anything. Dancing is wtv movement the music makes you wanna do. And some types of musics just don't invite some booty to boogie.

Obviously, there are dance techniques, what professional dancers learn, and I am sure some of them have a hard time dancing to all styles.

I like this better

it's less technical, but he is actually flowing with the music.

I wonder if this style of dance is easy to freestyle.

Well...what kind of performance is it if it's not dance?

He's into liquid/popping/tutting/electric boogaloo, wich are all forms of dance (all are funk styles except liquid wich is kinda different).

Dancing doesn't have to be about jumping mindlessly on the same spot at the end of each drum loop...

Well he's clearly on time (1:20-3:00, specially...not too fond of the stuff at the beginning either, and does agree that he's loosing it near the end).

This one is kinda short but I like it...and it's a good track so..

I mean it doesn't look like dancing because he ain't following with the beat. His motions are not flowing either. I've seen that style performed many times over, and many are able to make it flow with the beat, show come kind of connection between the movement and the music.

I've also seen many African dance styles, and I don't get it, as in the movements are not native to the way my body would flow, although I can see the connection between the beat and the movement. That's dancing.

Mindless bouncing on the same spot is an excellent way to enter a trance, repetitive motion, until the all the fluids in your body sway at the same rhythm, then you take off, eyes roll back, you only hear the cosmic sound, no more music, you mind shuts down all you feel is your inner being. Some what like mediation, just entirely different at the same time.

I more often than not dance with my arms and every body part, although I am guilty of trancing.

Don't know if it's because I'm also into Liquid, because the music isn't very clear on the video or because you somehow fail to see the way he follow the beat, but he does and is pretty good at it at lots of points in the video. He fails a couple of time (specially near the end), probably because he's trying to do too much, but he's very "to the beat" and technical in other parts.

I understand what you mean about trance... Although my way of falling into trance is by getting really focused on my technique to the point where I can't even think about what I'm doing but simply doing it. But yeah, we all have our ways I guess.

I just feel a bit offended by someone saying it's impossible to dance to a whole style of music. Sounds kinda dumb and closed-minded. I've seen some amazing dancers shake it to all kind of music, dubstep included.

Whitelight is right - good dancers can dance to anything.

ok I know it's not dubstep - it's house. and their style is much different from Tiny Love's - but I personally think this crew is amazing. They're called Footworkingz. and the crew of little kid dancers is called Future Funk. this video is awesome =)

I should rephrase. I don't mean they would dance like a puppet to anything that is played. I mean they can dance very well to very complex or very minimal rhythms that might be daunting to someone not as gifted.

fine, just don't mix me up with the who actually said it was impossible to dance to.

and I toally agree that you can get into trance from being so involved with technique. It has happened to me while doing homework, writing an essay or writing out chemical reactions, at some point you get so into it that it just flows right out of you.
