So looks do matter a lot, I can't be with a guy that I find unattractive. Some of us think just the same: need to be attracted, but there are a whole range of factors other than looks that will attract us. The same goes for the opposite there are quite a few women that go for looks alone, like some bimbo I met that dates 6' or higher otherwise she aint interested... that girl probably missed the boat and wound up with some tall turd. You gotta be physically attracted, but a pretty face won't make me smile or bring me through a whole range of emotions. A woman's intellect, values and sense of humor will. It's all about balance. |

I know looks do matter up to a certain point for girls, maybe the range is wider because it involves subtle things that reveal more about the guy, whereas a guy's attention will pick up the moment a girl has piercing eyes, beautiful lips, emphasizes her legs or cleavage ect. This attention is lost once a girl exposes unattractive features like stupidity...but then many guys dont even care about that. We humans seem to be doing the opposite of birds, where it is the male's job to actively impress the opposite sex visualy. let's not discount the biological reasons behind what we find attractive or not (The Naked Ape - Desmond Morris has some interesting theories)... female physical beauty indicates health and fertility (which is of course easily faked with cosmetics, surgery and clothing). Whereas guys generaly attract girls by projecting subtler things like security and problem solving through their personality, actions and what they physicaly project. Maybe there are varying degrees of interest in physical and personality attributes as well. I have a childhood buddy who goes for every blond with big tits and has to talk to her for hours before he realizes if he's really into her or not. Whereas I... might be too picky :/ |
