which leads me to my only complaint about the party: having to play on those goddamn CDJ 200s .. i hate 'em! so... don't judge parts of my set too harshly when you hear the recording :p - lol one last shout out to host1, golgo13, plecko, melo, deadfunk, ext, etc., for kicking ass! I've also sued people before. I've been in court. Verbal agreements DO hold up in small claims court (which goes up to 25,000$ now), and either way, I'm sure there was a string of emails discussing payment with Sickness. If there was, that alone would constitute an automatic win in smalls claims court. Have you ever taken a University level law class? Because I have... I don't know about the "kid" you're referring to but I have extensive promotion experience and I've organized a number of tours. In Canada, if DJs/musicians are playing in a venue without alcohol and aren't entering into a RECURRING contractual relationship, they are exempt from getting work permits. Now, I don't know if there was alcohol at this event, but if there wasn't then Orbit1 was 100% allowed to play without a permit. Not that it's in any way relevant to the situation at hand. |

Just that you do come across as a jerk, as you often do on the boards :) So if you having contracts and paying your DJs as agreed, what doe that make JS and Cya? Why put the blame on the guys who traveled just to play their sets and get fucked over? Which is why I've been abstaining from making judgments and hope that things are being worked out privately. Posting here the way milo did was jumping the guns, but he still has a valid reason to do so. | Coolness: 47160 | Yeah, I wanted to go to montreal and see orbit1 but I was playing in ottawa at 330 so it wasn't an option. By the time the ottawa party got shut down I was too drunk to drive.
I wish I had been there - oh well, I guess ill see him in ottawa. And yeah, I'd be frustrated too but nobody is blaming you, they're blaming sickness. |

Why is everyone so phony and nice to each other then so irate and mean to each other on here? I heard NOTHING about these issues until monday, I was at the party until 8am and we were all smiling and having fun. Nobody spoke about the economical problems the party was facing, but the second you're all behind your keyboards coming down off your pills, you turn into over-opinionated jagoffs.
Fuckin ironic. This was supposed to be a good thread, the party was a success! But you're still not letting it go. Its none of our business, so let's move-on! Thanks! |
