Always always always ALWAYS hook up gear to a good/real surge protector! Not those cheap pharmacy/dollar-store power-bars with a shitty fuse, but one of the 20+ dollar ones from Future Shop/Home Depot/wherever that are designed for computers or power-tools!
hell, you can even get cheap-ish UPS so that if/when the generator runs out the sound won't die right away.. but that's a little more of an investment, something like 80$+tax for the cheaper ones. |

| My new generator is an inverter type generator... It has better power then the house sockets... It will not happen again. Cost 6x more then a regular generator though... |

| Yeah so far I spent over 500$ repairing CDJ 200's... The 400's are lighter which makes me think they are way cheaper to repair... I dunno though... 100's I never used... But the fact remains if you buy something new chances are you will have a 3 year no hassle warranty and have something new... It could be better because after all I spend on these machines (mine) I could have bought them new and not used... |
