Ive encountered this a few times during my travels and always inquire as I find the idea so awkward in principle. The first movie of the genre I saw was Groove. It was at 2am on a Tuesday when the harsh and unmerciful realization that I would have wait until Friday to dance off the adrenaline set in. I think the best thing you can do is to record yourself mixing and take notes on what you liked and didn't like while listening to it after. Often times your so concentrated while mixing you don't necessarily pick up on the subtle errors and you certainly won't notice them in an actual party.. in the end this little exercise will go a long way to making you a much better dj.
