I love Anahata (psybient), Ekoplex (nighttime), Astral Waves, Vibrasphere, Byron Dreamweaver and other western friends who make such outstanding epic deep music, lots of hard dark trippy stuff, and many of the superfine DJ's and producers that we have here in the east... and I don't think this thread is complete without our Younger Brother, Sponglucinogen, and ADHAM SHAIKH <3<3<3 (if some of his stuff can be considered trancey). Dubbish psy has gotten into my veins too.

I don't really like mainstream trance but hey whatever floats your boat.

I love everything from deep downtempo psIDM, to hardcore industrial psy, to world/dub psy, to full on to night time to goa to melodic, psytrance/dark symphonic metal... endless music. There are some things that I haven't heard yet that I want to, so I'm going to try to make it.

The first one I quoted from u is by far my favorite. Please keep the font for the DJ's, it's awesome, and I like it with the bright background as opposed to the greyed out one that was posted later. I'd like to see less glow on the "Psychedelica" font, and change the middle column font to match the font of "from the producers of Girls...." or simelar, if you decide to chance that font too. Change the fond of "AV Deco..." to match also... [ ] and "featuring" should also match one of your main fonts, I think.

But everything else IMO is fucking epic. It's like looking in "trancer's guide" and feeling like I'm at a party just by looking at all the cool little thumbnails. seriously, the one with the swirl behind it, that is not faded out - that one is awesome.

I paid 22.something, it's brand new, how about 10$? or trade for a USB cable for a digital cam, I need that.

can also trade for (could supplement some cash if necessary): old computer shell (I'm building a PC), DVD/CD burner, power supply, raw cashew butter, bike oil, plain blank CDs, bamboo or hemp or coconut material, high quality mic cable, jewelry cord, stretchy string, a capo, small lamp, or a 2" wrench.

I also have a few too many black lights from days of yore - two 2 foot ones with bulbs, one 4 foot one with a bulb, and one 4 foot one that needs a bulb replacement.

I think we should really push for Mont Royal for future years because there's something so unique to have tamtams and the gazebo in the same park. I don't know of any other city that has that. It's... part of Montreal's culture ^^

Until then, I think I'm going to be at tamtams for the most part on Sundays, especially since I'll be dancing to electronica the night before. Blah! I wish I'd seen it last summer.

I think it's sad how he put the old guy in distress. We don't know what's gone on in his life to make him sensitive to people asking where he's going. Maybe he's a recluse.. doesn't he have the right to be left alone? The health of old people is more fragile, TG could have provoked him into a heart attack. We just expect old people to always be docile and it shocks us when they blow up to subtle ageism once in a while.

Tom Green just pushed his buttons on purpose, and then acts all innocent and polite while the guy is going off and redirects the blame for the situation.

I guess it's sort of funny that TG stalks old people for a living! lol!

I wonder why Destructiva doesn't just change the name of his film. If he wants it to be found more easily by people searching for videos about raves, that would be a good idea anyways. Oh well I personally feel like it shows too much of one side of the scene anyways, a side that is already overly exposed and exaggerated by mainstream media.

EarthySpirit I appreciate that you seem to have positive intentions towards all, but please realize that your words can seem imposing to females. It's also hard to tell sarcasm over the internet, so stating that you're being sarcastic in the same post can help people understand that and not take it a different way than you intended it.

I hope this gets resolved, Anto always seems so nice and tends to go out of his way for others and I won't stop appreciating that ---but I don't agree with forcing people to be in a movie if they don't want to.

I'm not blind, I know that you're joking. It's not funny (to me) because I know that you actually fund/support those things. You're not being accused of anything, you proudly boast about it all by yourself. Just because someone doesn't laugh at your idiotic bigotry ("jokes") doesn't mean that they don't have a sense of humor.

I didn't claim to know you, and you don't know me either. It's amazing how I can get along so well with the vast majority of people in person, as long as I keep my veganism a secret except for close friends (until coming on here and I had the NERVE to finally defend myself and make a stand about it).

I'm not half as offended by you as you are by me, I don't think.

I'm pretty apathetic to every thing you say/picture you post to try to offend me, and just say what I think. It's not like I'm sitting here crying. :P

So... how many of you noticed that I was joking around when I was posting vegan food right after you posted meat (which by the way is not more offensive to me than dairy/eggs)?

No?

Oh I guess you have no sense of humor then ^^

For the record I was trying to be friendly again and make light of the situation, but then was accused of spreading propaganda when I posted pictures of vegan chocolate and cupcakes, LOL!

Although 35 million cattle are slaughtered every year in the US, 35 million chickens are slaughtered every day.

Broiler (meat) Chickens and Turkeys

• More than 40 000 meat chickens, otherwise referred to as “broiler chickens,” are confined in huge warehouses where they can barely move. Their living space for their entire lives is an area smaller than a piece of paper.

• When in such crowded numbers, chickens and turkeys take out their stress by pecking at each other. The meat industry’s solution? Chicks’ beaks are sliced off soon after birth. This is tantamount to searing off the tips of your fingernails and teeth without painkillers. Many birds starve to death because it just hurts too much to eat… but to the meat industry, it’s more economical than just giving chickens more space.

• Broiler chickens and turkeys have been genetically manipulated and injected with massive amounts of growth hormones and antibiotics. This causes them to grow twice as large and twice as fast as normal; if their legs don’t snap or their hearts don't give out under their drug-induced bulk, they suffer from chronic pain and diseases. The poultry industry brags, “if a 7-pound human baby grew at the same rate that today’s turkeys [and broiler chickens] grow, when the baby reached 18 weeks of age it would weigh 1,500 pounds.”

Due to unmanageable slaughter line speeds maintained to increase profit, animals are being deskinned and eviscerated while fully alive and conscious.

Here are some chicks that have now been ground up alive, this happens when we buy eggs:

*********first the second half which is (IMO) more interesting:

The more than 9 billion chickens raised on factory farms each year in the U.S. never have the chance to do anything that is natural to them. They will never even meet their parents, let alone be raised by them. They will never take dust baths, feel the sun on their backs, breathe fresh air, roost in trees, or build nests.

Chickens raised for their flesh, called “broilers” by the chicken industry, spend their entire lives in filthy sheds with tens of thousands of other birds, where intense crowding and confinement lead to outbreaks of disease. They are bred and drugged to grow so large so quickly that their legs and organs can’t keep up, making heart attacks, organ failure, and crippling leg deformities common. Many become crippled under their own weight and eventually die because they can’t reach the water nozzles. When they are only 6 or 7 weeks old, they are crammed into cages and trucked to slaughter.

Birds exploited for their eggs, called “laying hens” by the industry, are crammed together in wire cages where they don’t even have enough room to spread a single wing. The cages are stacked on top of each other, and the excrement from chickens in the higher cages constantly falls on those below. The birds have part of their sensitive beaks cut off so that they won’t peck each other as a result of the frustration created by the unnatural confinement. After their bodies are exhausted and their production drops, they are shipped to slaughter, generally to be turned into chicken soup or cat or dog food because their flesh is too bruised and battered to be used for much else.

Eating Chickens Is Bad for Your Health
According to a major 2006 Harvard study of 135,000 people, people who frequently ate grilled skinless chicken had a 52 percent higher chance of developing bladder cancer compared to people who didn’t.

Because the male chicks of egg-laying breeder hens are unable to lay eggs and are not bred to produce excessive flesh for the meat industry, they are killed. Every year, more than 100 million of these young birds are ground up alive or tossed into bags to suffocate.

Chickens are slammed into small crates and trucked to the slaughterhouse through all weather extremes. Hundreds of millions suffer from broken wings and legs from rough handling, and millions die from the stress of the journey.(4)

At the slaughterhouse, their legs are snapped into shackles, their throats are cut, and they are immersed in scalding hot water to remove their feathers. Because they have no federal legal protection (birds are exempt from the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act), most are still conscious when their throats are cut open, and many are literally scalded to death in the feather-removal tanks after missing the throat cutter.

**********the first half, for all you sentimental types:

Chickens are inquisitive, interesting animals who are as intelligent as mammals like cats, dogs, and even primates.(1) They are very social and like to spend their days together, scratching for food, cleaning themselves in dust baths, roosting in trees, and lying in the sun. Dr. Chris Evans, administrator of the animal behavior lab at Australia’s Macquarie University, says, “As a trick at conferences, I sometimes list [chickens’] attributes, without mentioning chickens, and people think I’m talking about monkeys.”(2)

Chickens are precocious birds. Mother hens actually cluck to their unborn chicks, who chirp back to their mothers and to one another from within their shells!3 The intelligence and adaptability of chickens actually make them particularly vulnerable to factory farming because, unlike most birds, baby chickens can survive without their mothers and without the comfort of a nest—they come out of the shell raring to explore and ready to experience life. Learn more about the intelligence of chickens.

For now, we have other things that have the same (better) nutrient value, and other things that can keep us warm.

Music that is mainstream doesn't necessarily suck, but my own feelings are that Tiesto is a bad example of electronica.

Not all electronic music is repetitive either, and IMO the repetitiveness of music in the top 40 today completely blows the repetitiveness of most electronica out of the water. haha
