Well, comparing Anabolic Frolic to Force and/or Darren Styles is silly considering Frolic never actually produced any Hardcore music (apart from 1 forgettable collaboration if I recall).

What he did do is bring the genre to it's popularity peak here in North America through Hullabaloo and H2BH. Also, his mixing skills on the series might have been passable at best, his track selections on the other hand were spot on.

Heart Of Gold should be an EPIC party for sure!

Happy Hardcore might be at an all time low in Montreal at the moment but it's quite the opposite in Toronto where you can find some solid promotion teams throwing great parties. Ottawa isn't doing too bad either. As for Montreal, there's even a cool Happy Hardcore event coming up this weekend:

SESTO SENTO!!! je vais garder un oeil sur cet evenement, je detesterais manquer Sesto Sento, surtout si le reste du party semble en valoir la peine.



Effectivement, j'ai cru lire quelquepart que Sesto Sento etaient venus a Sherbrooke, mais ca fait deja plusieures annees. Peu importe!! Enfin un vrai headliner melodic full-on qui n'est pas Infected Mushroom.

Photoshoot from 2005 for some hair fashion magazine contest my hair dresser at the time was participating in. Make up galore! This is not the final version of the pictures though, only a few pics where actually given the digital treatment with funky effects and all for contest submission.

Agreed, that track didn't stand out as very morning for me either. I really like this Psychedelic Lover track. This is the first time I actually enjoyed a psy trance track posted on these boards! I'll listen to some more DNA stuff, I hope there's more like that one.

Morning Full-On decrit le psy energique a saveur melodique et aux variations de basslines funky.

Dark Full-On decrit le psy energique mais sans grandes variations de melodies ou basslines, utilisant des samples etranges et angoissants.


J'imagine que le Twilight Psy se trouve quelquepart entre les deux, surement plus pres du Morning Full-On.

Heroes vs Villains!! I'm proud of what we achieved, and it felt good to be giving back to a scene that has been good to me over the years.

That being said, I spent most of my raving hours in Toronto this year. With crews like Daydream and Nocturnal Commissions, it is the place to be for Hardcore kids like me. My most memorable time on the dancefloor in 2011 was during Re-Con's and Technikore's sets at Total Request Rave 6 in november.

As a dj, my favourite performance was in Ottawa, just a few weeks ago, at Taste The Rainbow. It was a small but very good party and I'm really proud of my set. I'll follow this example here in Montreal in 2012 for Noah's birthday and Plurtastik's Level Up.

Je peux effectivement confirmer qu'il n'y a eu aucuns problèmes avec la police le soir de Heroes vs. Villains! Ça n'a par contre aucune importance, car même si il y en aurait eu, ça aurait été considéré comme un impondérable. Quand tous les aspects d'un party sont bien ficelés comme nous l'avons fait et que la police trouve quand même quelque chose à redire, c'est un problème de société.

All night, UK Hardcore-Hardstyle-Gabber, featuring Chris Unknown (UK)

Le UK Hardcore est en plein boom de popularité en ce moment à Toronto. Aux amateurs du style, je recommande fortement d'aller faire un tour chez les anglais pour en profiter pendant que ça dure. J'ai eu la chance de voir Gammer, Fracus et Joey Riot là bas cette année déjà, et j'y retourne encore en Novembre après l'Halloween pour Re-Con et Technikore. Leurs locaux savent aussi choisir/mixer des tracks de qualité, et l'atmosphère est excellente.

Here's what I think: some Psy Parties are the most genuine and fantastic rave parties there are around. Although I disagree with the general tendency in local psytrance tastes (dark, progressive and tech as opposed to melodic, uplifting and energetic), I often found myself grooving like crazy on the dancefloor just because of the sheer excitement and palpable vibe the psy crowd can generate. A lot of scenes I've experienced could really use some of this kind of energy and attitude on the dance floor.

Ce que tu appelles de la paresse et une formule, moi j'appelle ca de la constance et un son personalisé ou on reconnnait des éléments qui sont facilement identifiables à l'artiste.

C'est une mauvaise chose de pouvoir rattacher une chanson à un artiste grâce à des effets qui lui sont propres et à des éléments récurrents?

Tu diras p-e que je connais rien au Dubstep (c'est un fait), mais cest le genre de truc qu'on dit à propos de bien des artistes dans bien des styles... et en plus, j'aime bien Shkrillekch!

Cyre and I were in Ottawa last night for Dainja's label launch party, Rush Delivery, and Sharkey gave the Ottawa Ravers an insane show! This man knows how to work a crowd, trust us. He is totally hyped up about his Montreal performance next week, so be there to witness the epicness!!

As for Heroes vs Villains , The deco is shaping up incredibly well, the light and sound will be out of this world and you can expect to hear the best that Hardcore has to offer, so this party is clearly not one to be missed!
