i'll start from the beginnning:

alpha iz the logo used on the alpha bits ceral boxes,
he looks like a tv but he's not a tv,he's alpha....their mascot.

the idea for the night came
while eating alpha bits and watching a report on tv about
under-nourished schoolkids in quebec .i had to trie something....

why not ask some freinds
to help start the alpha beatz
by organizing different events
each corresponding to a letter in the alphabet
a=acid b=breaks c=core d=drumz
we'll trie to record each event and sell the cd's @ the next one.

euh,
it's a simple concept thing
that will become clearer
with time
and i'm sure you'll all want to help-out.

as for the breaks/promoter thing,
i waz not aware i needed a permit to play breaks in montreal?!!!!
please let me know who to call for that.

i've always though it was a music thing,
not a braks or hardcore or trance or psy thing!!!

i've kinda had the chance to witness it all front-row from the begining and i also would estimate the real time of death to be friday december 31st 1999 midnight however the scene was already like a horse with a broken leg it was looking for someone or something to finish it off : the dis-illusion of 2000,parties shutting down,everybody becoming a dj and nobody left to dance all contributed to the extinction of the coloured people.

i waz not @ cream this year but i played @ cream a couple of years ago and i have to admit it waz one of the weirdest experiences:

a couple of hours before playing ,
the disciples of the 514 took me aside and asked me not to mix any tracks together,
just let one track play after the other and play as minimal as i could....
of course they had no idea who they were talking to and iz made sure the 3 turntables were put to good use.
it made me wonder,could all this minimalistik shit be a way to sell more pills????
these are the things that made me go hmmmm...

now having played a kickass set after enduring 4 hours of what sounded like goa on 33rpm (dj lafleche)with only good comments on 514's website exept your usual jealous dj wannabe...i could not figure-out why i waz never called back and they never answered my e-mails ...
another thing that made me go hmmmm....

i could say they suck but i won't cause none of them were there when i played so they don't know any better,and moreover it was the best paycheck i ever had...
i truly think it's just the people surrounding the people @514 that truly suck...

pretentious iz not even close to describing the club-scene, it's all about the cars you park outside(i've never seen so many porsches) and it's all about 2000$ bottles of champagne and white lines everywhere.

the party scene however iz slowly growing with the help of everyone living outside lebanon coming back for the summer.

it was really surprising for both me and the french dj's to see everyone dancing for 3 days and nobody complaining that there was no exstacy or speed....
i am sure if the same event was held in montreal or france everybody would have left in a flash including the dj's.

these kids made me realised how much we are spoiled in north america and how much our rave scene has lost it's purpose.
