TURBO MONTHLY @ HELSINKI

Featuring Kenny Glasgow (Turbo Recordings, Toronto)

Kenny Glasgow is an icon in the Toronto music club scene. For almost a decade now he has pushed the music boundaries and forged a style of his own.

From the JMK warehouse days, to the big warehouse raves in the mid 90’s, Kenny has played for many a party crowd. JMK was a trio DJ act that made its roots in the underground, illegal warehouse scene of early house music days in Toronto. Jeremy, Mike, and Kenny (JMK) hosted these now legendary parties called 'Family Tree'. The trio played back to back all night, alongside guests they would invite; Roger Sanchez, Teddy Douglas, Peter & Tyrone, Nick Holder, and DJ Disciple were amongst those booked. The warehouse scene flourished and JMK soon had a loyal following of die hard, dance all night party goers. This continued until the demise of JMK in fall of '94, thus ending the era of Family Tree Parties. Kenny continued to play smaller raves and it was here that he was truly able to perfect the style he's adopted as his own…more minimal, hard, but always funky.

From 1996 – 2000 Kenny's sound earned him numerous guest spots at Industry nightclub. Partnership with his long time friend, Mario J, led him to the studio once again, where much time was spent making tracks that reflected his ability to 'put the funk' into any dancefloor. Then in 2001 he was approached by Turbo Recordings in Montreal to put together one of their Mix Sessions Series entitled obviously after the city that has danced the decade away with him – Toronto.

For any and all press interviews and questions please feel free to contact Turbo directly.
