Los Angeles J-RO, E-SWIFT & TASH Waxploitation // [ www.thaalkaholiks.com ] One of the most influential hip hop artists over the last decade,Tha Alkaholiks (consisting of E-swift, J-Ro and Tash) have been a constant fixture in the hip hop underground. Songs like “Make Room”, “Daaam!” and “Likwit” are still playlist and mix tape staples. Party rappers from the West Coast, Tha Alkaholiks entered the hip-hop field by working with King Tee on his 1993 Tha Triflin' Album; after touring with KRS-One, Ice Cube, and Too Short, they found a major-label contract with Loud Records. Their 1993 debut album, 21 & Over, along with Wu-Tang's 36 Chambers, brought Loud Records to the forefront of Hip-Hop music. Tha Liks second album, Coast II Coast, saw the trio working with East Coast heavyweights Q-Tip and Diamond D. While they maintained a West Coast party vibe throughout. Tha Alkhaholiks have released two other albums, X.O. Experience featuring Busta Rhymes, Xzibit, Kurupt and The Neptunes, and Likwidation featuring Nas and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Tash’s solo album Rap Life featured Raekwon and Outkast amongst others.
