Arkastic and Michael McDubstep present: Smooth Sailing, Wednesday November 28th @ Sing Sing (77 Des Pins E.), an evening of soft rock, AM gold, fusion, blue-eyed soul, surf, music of the tropics and yachtrock. In association with Flatwax, AL Prods, Level 4 Productions and Pop Montreal, this special one-night event will give Montrealers a chance to discover the smoothest, yachtiest sounds of the seventies and eighties, gone but not forgotten: Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, Mike McDonald, The Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross, Loggins and Messina or Seals & Crofts alongside the era's great fusion acts: Herbie Hancock, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Grover Washington Jr., and a whole tide of artists who were swept up in the wave and piloted the sound into great new directions. Blend that with the 21st century sounds of yachtstep, dub and dubstep and you have the recipe for the conch chowder that is Smooth Sailing. no cover @ brand new venue Sing Sing. |
