Description:The Revealers [ www.myspace.com ]
The Revealers, in their current formation, have been together since the summer of 2006. The parts that make up The Revealers, however, have been active in the Montreal music scene for some time now. Basically they’re made up of the trio of Mark, Nic and Anthony who’ve been playing together since 2004 and Rick from The Wells, a popular and well established Montreal group. Add beer, mix well, and you get this blend of hard driving rhythm based rock and soul with thick vocal harmonies that keeps people coming back for more. Nic and Anthony had played together in elementary school, and after all the sex, drugs, and detention had to go their separate ways until Nic and Mark were looking to form a band a few years ago. Nic suggested they call Tony and it was apparent right away that this would be a perfect fit. The three of them practised for a while in their laboratory and eventually started recording their sketches in studios around town, supplying the soundtrack to a television pilot about strippers and convincing themselves to take it to the stage and perform live. They landed a gig as the house band at Boodha Bar for open mic nights with Sebastien of Dead Messenger and Liquid. They started playing at Honey Martin around then as well. That formation went their separate ways a year later and one drunken evening Rick turned up at one of the last performances and joined in. The night went on and the timing was right, the very next week they began rehearsing. In their short time together, The Revealers have played at the Montreal Fringe Festival, various bars, had a memorable night at Rick’s family’s corn roast, and landed a weekly Saturday night gig at Honey Martin Pub – where they can still be found. The Revealers influences include Dylan, Neil young, the Rolling stones, The Band, The Beatles, Beck, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Townes Van Zandt, James Brown, David Bowie, Taj Mahal, the Grateful Dead, Booker T & the m.g’s, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the Police, Lou Reed, Gram Parsons, the Beastie boys, Mississippi John Hurt, Kings of Leon, Mogwai, Daniel Lanois, Outkast, Johnny Cash, Bullfrog, Link Wray, George Clinton, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Peter Tosh, Ben Harper & the innocent criminals, Garcia & Grisman, Doc Watson, Curtis Mayfield, The Clash, AC/DC, Howlin’ Wolf, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Led Zeppelin, Toots & the Maytals, Blind Melon, the Allman brothers, Christina Aguilera, alcohol, bowling, hockey, pictures, stories, our friends, women, everyday shit, once in a lifetime shit, the modern world, the ancient world, another world (the soap), Wal Mart, Oprah, and Jesus. Their ultimate goal is world domination. No one is safe. More communications to come….

Mars Hill [ www.myspace.com ]
Mars Hill Is a band that is not easy to label. The year was 2003 when the booming city of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island gave birth to one of the most original and finest bands of the 21st century. YES, believe the hype. The music of Mars Hill is genre-defying, blending elements of reggae, folk, rock, jazz and hip hop. Ethereal keyboards, thick bass lines, jazzy drums and climatic trumpet give the band a psychedelic 1967 Venice, California feel-while the vocals of frontman Devin Casario haphazardly drag the bands sound through Kerouac's New York and Harrison's Rishikesh. Their debut album Oxcart was released in October 2004 just in time to garner an ECMA nomination for Alternative Recording of the Year at the 2005 ECMAs in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The album was engineered and produced by Darren Gallop, a member of Slowcoaster through his production company East Cape Productions. In May of 2006, Mars Hill released, "Fate Chance Luck Dance." A significant departure from their debut album-"Fate..." is a classic record that cuts across all musical genres while maintaining a coherant focus. The album was engineered by Adam Gallant and mixed by Darren Gallop. In October of 2006 Mars Hill relocated to Montreal where, "they shall proceed." Members of the band include: Devin Casario, vocals; Chloe Cork, trumpet/keyboards/vocals; Dean Dunsford, bass/guitar and David Weale on drums. Auxiliary members include: (but not limited to) Kevin Labchuk, Chris Corrigan, John Rehder, Sean Butler, Jon King and Joel Sutherland. Mars Hill are not only one of the best looking bands from the East Coast, they are also the most educated- courtesy of the Canadian government. Do your research.
