CAJMERE AKA GREEN VELVET * 3 HOUR SET
(Relief Recordings, [ www.green-velvet.com ] - Chicago
Tonight Funky Element Ptoduction is proud to bring you the man whose name, over the years, has become synonymous with the words "techno & "house" music. Using the Green Velvet moniker to make his singularly twisted, funk-flecked house and techno hybrid, it was as Cajmere that he made his first musical mark back in the early 90's after ditching school half way through a post-grad, chemical engineering degree at top-notch US college Berkeley. As time went on Jones discovered what is his innate love and understanding for house music, a sound that had grown throughout the mid-80s out of Chicago's deep-rooted disco scene. While Green Velvet (a name given to him by a friend's dad) provided a more intense and wickedly creative production outlet behind studio doors, it also allowed him to unleash his deeper-seated artistic urges in public, on an unsuspecting audience. When he emerged as the flamboyant, neon-haired Green Velvet to front mid-90's hits like 'Preacher Man', 'Answering Machine' and 'Flash' the shock-waves reverberated throughout house and techno scenes the world over. This elaborately garbed, lyrically wild creature scored hit after hit, putting his hometown Chicago back on house music's production map. It's Cajmere, "Curtis Jones'" runaway imagination that sits at the core of his Green Velvet productions. The analog synth squelches and jacking beats of his deranged backing tracks sit perfectly with his out-there lyrics. "I just let my imagination go wild," he says. "I try not to analyze it; I'm not into formulating my sound. I just do what I'm feeling." And he's been doing just that. Winng over fans from the US and as far as Ibizia, Australia, Germany, Tokyo and just about everywhere in between, rocking crowds and headlining some of the biggest dance events the world has ever seen. Come witness this Techno / House Legend drop a rare extended set of hard pounding grooves and raw twisted funk. Cajmere aka Green Velvet... Nuff Said!

UBERZONE * LIVE
[ www.uberzone.net ] - LA
If anyone remebers the Funky Element event "Sneaky" back in june of 03', you'll remember the awe inspiring, breath taking live performance that rocked NYC that night. Back to the northeast for the first time in almost four years (since the first Sneaky event), Funky Element proudly brings you once again, one of the most intense live performances out there: Uberzone. "I love the concept of the man-machine writing process, but one thing I realized while making this record is that there's a spirituality in human collaboration. As much as I enjoy working in the studio alone, having other input helps bring out new ideas... Speaking in terms of lateral thinking, it helped burn a few new neural pathways." - Q. Uberzone is the brainchild of southern California native Q (named after the "gizmo" -loving James Bond character). Like his namesake, Q is a die-hard collector of all things electronic, and has been collecting electronic-music gear since his early teens. His early singles, "Botz" and "The Freaks", released on taste-maker indie dance label City of Angels, were critically acclaimed club tracks that established Q as one of the leading American producers of breakbeat music. These singles were charted consistently by DJs like Florida's DJ Icey and the UK's Adam Freeland, among others. His remixes of Sarah McLachlan, The Crystal Method and BT also established him as one of the biggest names in the American dance scene. Spin Magazine named Uberzone as one of the six producers to create "the biggest beats ever." If you missed it the first time... Heres your second chance to see one of the nastiest live performances out there. no dats, no computers... just RAW!

FRANKIE BONES
(Sonic Groove, EMG) - NYC
Who best to rock a quality white label party other than the legend, who's name equals what one thinks of when they hear a proper white label record? Raw, Underground madness is what comes to mind. Tonight we bring you the # 1 undisputed godfather of techno, and our rave scene... the man who started it all. Frankie Bones equals hard pounding techno mayhem. His legendary STORMraves in Brooklyn in the ‘90s have earned him the reputation as a pioneer of rave culture. "Frankie Bones introduced raves…to the east coast by throwing a series of big underground parties". They were known as the STORMraves. Many promotors give Bones credit as the founding father of raves in America. It was at one of these Storm Raves that Bones gave a very important speech after one of his very powerful sets. He explained what the scene was about and why he had brought it to NY: peace, love, unity, and respect. When he finished everybody in the warehouse waved their hands in the air in complete unity. For many it was the most beautiful speech anyone has ever heard," says one attendee. From Prodigy to LTJ Bukem to Carl Cox, some of the best talent to emerge in the global scene has attributed Bones as an inspiration. Playing cutting edge music without gimmicks or limitations, Bones does not follow trends or try to create them. "I do not go for a look or a style," he says. "Fashion goes in and out of style; passion and dedication never go out of style. I cannot scratch like DJ Craze, cut like Bad Boy Bill, have major backing like Paul Oakenfold or rap like Run DMC, yet every time I start where they finish the crowd response equals or surpasses… How? Why? It is quite simple: I love what I do and I have loved what I have been doing." Tonight the G.O.A.T. will be dropping a hard rugged techno set that will be rememeberd for years to come.

Hardcore Techno at its finest... come get some!

ADAM X
(Sonic Groove, Things To Come, Tiny) - NYC
Through years of DJing, production, and his affiliation with the respected Sonic Groove Records, Adam X is a recognized part of the East Coast's electronic music history. Mitchell's techno time line begins in the late '80s to early '90s with his older brother Frankie Bones. Bones was part of the Storm Rave events that exposed much of New York to the distinct beat of techno in its purest form and ignited the East Coast techno music scene. In 1990, the Brooklyn-based brothers teamed up with Heather Heart and opened Sonic Groove, a record store in Brooklyn. When most of Brooklyn was listening to rap, Adam X was pushing the sounds of electronic music, sometimes causing him to be ostracized and humiliated by the existing music community. Five years later the store moved to Manhattan, and the label Sonic Groove Records was launched. In the late '90s, after the move to Manhattan, Adam X's production work was finally released on a larger scale, and his work and role in the development of East Coast techno was recognized. Tonight once again, Adam X will be coming out to drop some techno bombs and pounding bass. Be afraid... Be very afraid!!!

DJ DANK
(Funky Element, [ www.funkyelement.net ] [ www.djdank.com ] - NYC
Tonight NYC's best kept secret weapon will be droppin' knowledge on the East Coast. With a combination of hard pounding broken beats and twisted acid bass, the man behind the Funk EL will show you why he is one of the most sought after up and coming DJ's out there. Rocking large crowds is nothing new to this 24 year old DJ / Producer / Promoter. The CEO & founder of Funky Element Productions has been djing for the past 10 years, since the ripe age of 14, and throwing his own events since he turned legal at 18. "I started throwing parties, cause I wanted to fill what me and all my friends thought was lacking at the ones we were going to. At first we just wanted to host a safe place where we could go and listen to eachother and our favorite DJ's. Then it became clear to us that we had a mission to do. To not only raise the level of production of the events we were throwing and going to, but to create a unique atmosphere where people could create real positive memories, like we had. If it doesnt make me crazy... I'll be doing this shit ti'll im old an grey." As a DJ / Producer Dank wanted to do something different. Create a sound few have herd but wasnt so off the map that they couldnt dance and groove to it. Not labeling his sound is something he has been sure to do from the beginning. Sticking to this theory, mixing what can only be desrcribed as funky acid techno breaks mixed with aspects of straight up dark tribal trance / house, (always hard!) Dank creates a unique sound that has devastated dancefloors and has won over followers from his stomping grounds of NY all the way to Miami as fas as the West Coast lands of AZ and LA. Just booked to play in Canada at this years World Electronic Music Festival, the future looks bright and there seems to be no sign of stopping this young man from just outside NYC.
