Drop by Essence - every thursday, with no cover and cheap drinks all night long! With yours truly dj Roman K serving some grooving, deep and funky flavours!! This week I am honoured to play alongside Akash Sinha (11:30-12:30) Akash Sinha is a narcissistic and egotistical git. Thankfully his time spent in front of the mirror is surpassed by the time spent behind the decks. And while he can be quite vocal about his love for himself, a rare hint of modesty creeps in when it comes to his love for house music and djing. It’s a love that has led him from spinning weekly at local lounges to gracing the decks of Ottawa’s premier nightspots. He has spun alongside rising stars like Brad Copeland, as well as established favorites like DJ Dan and Bad Boy Bill. His diverse appreciation for music extends into the enjoyment of all types of house. While there is a definite affinity for funky house rhythms, he is quick to incorporate vocal, tribal and progressive tracks into a set, always keeping the listeners entertained.
