| Info: | Helsinki and Tantric Productions proudly present another edition of: [b]Elevation[/b] After the success of the Ferry Corsten show back on April 14, 2005 and the success of the first edition of [b]Elevation[/b] Helsinki decided to give Ottawa another dose of trance. Helsinki has been the [i]only[/i] location in Ottawa willing to give the trance scene a possibility for a monthly event that would be willing to give your feet a run for its money! So lets show our appreciation by giving this new night a wonderful welcome, and hopefully a place to stay as a staple in the Ottawa scene, on July 28th. DJ's for the evening are as follows: [b]Ibizagirl[/b] [i]Pulse, Tantric[/i] Yelena first got her start at a local Club Maxime where she was offered to promote and play a weekly night in 2000. Thanks to her amazing ear for music and the variety of styles played, which even included hip hop, the night soon became a success. But as all things come to an end, it was time to move on to bigger and better things. After playing numerous parties Yelena started discovering trance music listening to its greatest ambassadors Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk. She dedicated her time to perfecting her skills, finding best and most inspiring music, and captivating audiences whenever she played. More bookings followed including an event called Radiate and the first edition of Elevation. Some highlights at the moment include playing at Pulse parties, which marks the frist ever Ottawa University Electroinic Music Club and entering Surface UDJ competiton which will take her far and provide her with a recognition she deserves. Dont let the looks fool you, this lady can defintely rock the dance floors!! [b]Shaun Baker[/b] [i]Pulse, Tantric[/i] The ability to mix music came naturally to him and within 2 months made his debut in the club scene. Shaun contuinued to perfect his craft, trying to find his own distinctive sound. His big breakthrough came in January 2004 when his mix was selected out of over 400 submissions worldwide to be played on Ministry of Sound radio. A short while later, Shaun was named a resident of Narcosis Thursdays and played regularly with Ottawa's greats: VH3 and Chakra V. Shaun continued to improve upon his international exposure by playing twice on the Global Soundwave Broadcast on one of the worlds most popular internet radio stations, ETN.fm. Other artists on this show have been Markus Schulz, Filo & Peri, Alex MORPH, ATB, and John '00' Fleming. Most recently, Shaun has been heard on several other internet radio stations such as [ party107.com ] [ afterhoursdjs.com ] and iTunes. Expect to hear a lot of new stuff, as Shaun is always on top of the new releases! [b]Chakra V[/b] [i]Velvet, Revival, Tantric[/i] Chakra V bought his first set of decks in January of 2000. Being very discouraged at first, and giving up after only 2 weeks of fooling around with them, Chakra V can only look back upon that time as a learning experience to never give up. Tyler got his first big break in 2001, when he played at an installment of the Deelight series. After being absent from the scene for about 2-3 years, and playing at little parties here and there, finally made a statement in the scene in 2004. In 2004, Tyler entered the Surface Nightclub DJ competition and beat out 15 other competitors to gain the title. He won the 2004 competition in August of last year. Ever since that day, things have looked nothing but up for this young man. Highlight of his career so far would have to be opening up for the one and only Ferry Corsten at Helsinki. The vibe of that night is unparallel, and will stay in his heart and mind for a long, long time. Chakra V is also the founder of Tantric Productions who brought you the first installment of [b]Elevation[/b], that was an amazing success! DJ's played alongside: Ferry Corsten, John '00 Fleming, Saint Pete, Dr. Trance.
