| Info: | This week at Sundaze, we're happy to bring you a special guest who has been quite active throughout the world's EDM scene for over 18 years. Hailing from London, England, throughout the course of his career he has toured on four continents, across 10 different countriesand over 50 cities in Europe and the USA (incl. Hawaii), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia. He's playing an exclusive afternoon set of old school acid/tech/warehouse beats that will have you "waxing" nostalgic. DJ ASCENSION - aka. Old School Paul (UK) Ascension describes his style as a funky, flowing transition of new and old school house/warehouse sounds. If you like a fat baseline and a wailing TB-303, you won't want to miss his set! Beginning his Dj career full force in the early 90's, Ascension has perfomed on the bill with Dj's such as: Dj Ju (a man like Ju), Dj Mark (Mangled), Ray Keith, Pepe, Mr. C (the Shamen), Colin Hudd, Mike Pickering, Paul "Trouble" Anderson, "Evil" Eddie Richards, Dj Choc of World Class Records, Frankie Bones and Sasha and more. With Ian B of Ministry of Sound, Ascension later formed "Pub for Life Productions", dedicated to putting on smaller-scale intimate pub gigs in the UK, touring with Dj's Tony Nichols and Karl "Tough Enough" Brown. Later relocating to San Diego, California, Dj Ascension met other like-minded individuals (also Brits living in the U.S.), and formed a promotions crew called the UK Sound Council. This group put on Club Tribute weekly at Flame Bar which ran for two years, as well as several desert parties outisde of Los Angeles. In 2000, Ascension toured the U.S, most notably headlining at New Orleans' Club 735 on Bourbon Street during the New Orleans Millenium Mardi Gras Festival. This led to Ascension hosting a weekly Thursday called "The Solution", with DJ Issue from NYC at New Orleans landmark The Audubon Hotel on St. Charles St. Ascenion later formed and is currently on the roster for [ ] Dj Networking Service, which then merged with Raveline Holland to produce Scent Records. He is the force behind the Stay House series at Helsinki, the Spins & Needles Dj/craft-artwork series, Techcetera nights, to name a few.
