| Description: | On Sunday, March 27th, Sundaze & Acqua Nightclub present: DJ HASHEK (Gunz n' [ e.ca ] 89.1 FM) One of Ottawa's greatest techno advocates, this talented DJ is always a great thrill to hear spin. He's played gigs in cities across North Amreica, from Montreal to Toronto, and across the U.S. - hitting parties from Arizona to Massachusetts. DJ Hashek is the founder of the record label and production company Gunz & Bomz. He has played at events with such notable names as: Manu Le Malin, Laurent Ho, Tonio, Christian Smith, Gaetano Parisio, Misstress Barbara, Preach, Wikkid, Yaz, Dr. Trance, OS/2, Teknobrat, Mateo Murphy, DJ Mad and more... His devotion to DJing and producing music takes him back to a house party in 1994, where he instantly fell in love with the idea of spinning records and creating new sounds. His first mixed CD recorded live and properly titled "Gunz & Bomz," is filled with 22 pounding hard-techno and tech-trance tracks. The second mix released, entitled “Hashes to Hashes,” is more subtle, providing a funky and progressive tech-house feel. The newest mix CD, called “Hashtray,” is available now. The album features groovy, funky hard house and progressive tribal house sounds. [ www.teknoturtle.ca ] Hashek is a recent addition to the Tekno Turtle family. This label/artist representation is one of the nation's up and coming music promotion forces. Tekno Turtle's goals include providing a positive message about club culture & the rave scene, representing well deserving, hard working artists & on occasion, organizing events. Look for more in the future as the momentum builds... Most recently heard in Ottawa playing after Preach at Surface, Hashek provides a show any techno fan will be sad to miss. & DJ VIBE ALIVE (Directly Driven Productions) Matt Davis (Aka Vibe Alive) has been active in the Ottawa party/club scene since 1998. Securing a gig on May 21st, 2001 at SPIRIT nightclub marked Matt's first performance behind the wheels of steel for Ottawa clubbers. Since then, Vibe Alive has made many guest DJ appearances in and around Ottawa, including Stargate Fridays, Daylight Lounge and The Well. Vibe Alive's efforts behind the decks over the years were rewarded with a residency on Thursdays nights at Buddah Bar. After a brief hiatus from performing publicly, Vibe Alive is ready to return with a vengenace to the Ottawa club scene. He's reformulated his musical style, but his energy and personality behind the decks remains unchanged. Closing set by Bobby Timken aka. Chris George... Mr. Timken/George has been DJ'ing and promoting in Ottawa for several years. This guy's been paying his dues for a while now, so come and hear what he's spent all his dues on. lol! Rumour has it there's some dark progressive on the menu for his set.
