| Description: | From the producer of Delhi 2 Dublin comes a journey through modern Asian sounds. Ten years in the making, and incorporating recording sessions with artists worldwide, 22º of Beatitude brings us to temples in Bhutan, to street corners in Tokyo and even to an intimate conversation between the artist and his grandmother. Breaking out of the dancefloor-driven format, Tarun’s aim was to record as many of the sounds as possible, live, without the use of sample libraries. Each of these songs tells a story, and each story is a chapter in the artist’s life. They are a decade-long evolution of sounds that blend culture, beats and bass. With influences ranging from Talvin Singh to Bassnectar, Tarun’s music aims to break boundaries and bring people together. In April 2011 Tarun will be performing the album live across Canada with master percussionist/ producer Dave Sharma (Sub Swara, NYC), Vancouver-based glitch hop crew B.P.M., and a suite of custom made visuals, performed live by VJ Electrabelle. Cutting his teeth with years of hip hop, dub and drum'n'bass MC’ing and DJ’ing, the founder of the Vancouver group Third Eye Tribe Jacob continues to explore and producing new bass territories mixing in influence of world musik with electronic beat riddims. Learning the history and exposing himself to year of soundsystem culture, Jacob has studied dance culture in North American, Europe and spent months in Jamaica and Puerto Rico soaking up "The Way". A self proclaimed "Bass Slut", Jacob is a fan of big bottoms. Having recently spent another sabbatical in Jamaica he comes staight from yard to Montreal with a refined audio spectrum. It will be BIG and SERIOUS, trust we!. Spanning the musical diasopora from Balkan beats, to global bass, electro swing, dub, funk, and beyond, his record label Mushroom Lounge Recordings has brought new global music to the forefront. With past residencies in Osaka(JA), Chrsitchurch(NZ), Victoria(BC), Portland(OR), he also throws the Balkan Beats Montreal East party with Touski each month, and runs the Speakeasy Montreal Electro-Swing nights. You can also catch him fiddling with field recordings and bass in the live electronic projects Stab Ability and Mushroom Lounge.
